It'll still pass, because it is designed to do just that - pass...
The irony is too much. If I was a better writer, I'd go down to Martha's vineyard for a few months and be the first to research and write a book about this. Oh well, in my next lifetime.
It'll still pass, because it is designed to do just that - pass...
hahaha ... your health care bill Obama
How many seats did the GOP lose in 2006 and 2008?....all those seats were seats formerly held by Republicans.....
If you're wondering why this happened to the great Ted Kennedy's seat, it's because MA already has near-universal health care coverage, and people are afraid of the possibility of having to take a hit for the betterment of the nation. THAT is the real reason Brown won.
Never underestimate the power of human selfishness.
What does this have to do with the health-care bill? Brown is for Romney-care.....jezzz....inform yourself....
and actually, the terrible irony is that because Kennedy fought so hard for us here in MA, and helped get us health care coverage, people now take it for granted and can't see past their own fear to want the rest of the country to have it too.
I'm listening to MSNBC right now. Both Maddow and Mathews are saying the bill has to pass and the Dems have to do it through the reconciliation process or the Dem party will lose 50 seats come Fall.
Wow-I'm not sure their assessment is accurate. You'd have to have a lot of balls to try to pass this bill with even less support than what you had before this election took place. This will be interesting.
I'm going back to watch CNN and Fox to see what the political pundits have to say there.
Exactly, all those subsidized red-states aren't going to pay for their own citizens health-care...just like they won't pay for health-care for kids, the poor and expectant mothers...
I actually switched from watching Fox News to watching MSNBC just because it's so much fun seeing the lib s have a meltdown. Right now Keith "Countdown to No Ratings" Olbermann is on a very distasteful rant. Can you say "sour grapes"? LOL
also, health care reform will still pass. Dems still have the largest majority since 1979. They'll just have to either rely on reconciliation, which requires only 50+ votes, or call the Repuglicans bluff and force them to waste taxpayers' money with a filibuster that will backfire on them.
And the spin begins. As for "selfishness," comrade, you. Stop being so greedy and give up all you own.
I love the rose colored glasses libs have on. Just keep wearing them as they look cute on you.
I'll make sure to bump this when healthcare reform dies a painful death. Moderate Democrats are peeing their pants right now, and it might be hard to get even 50 votes.
They'll pass it before Brown has time to drop his pants for a Washington call-boy..
It won't.
Let them plunge to their own political death. I'm enjoying watching it![]()
...scoreboard 59 - 41.....
Senator Webb's calling for a suspension of health care votes until Senator Brown is seated. Game over.
Isn't Congress allowed to essentially pause a filibuster and move on to other issues with the filibuster technically still going on? Reconciliation is the Democrats only way to pass it. Hopefully it will push them to actually put some reform back into the bill now that they won't have to fellate losers like Lieberman, Landrieu, Nelson, and Baucus.
Actually, I would gladly take the higher premiums (if they come, and they've come every year, without health care reform) if that's the payoff to get health insurance for everyone in this country. I would gladly take the higher premiums if it means that health care companies can no longer deny people coverage because of pre-existing conditions. I would gladly take higher premiums if it means insurance companies have to have some limits to what they can charge patients and pay doctors a reasonable rate.
The problem is, most people in this country, and the people who watch Fox News and are depressingly easily manipulated, would not. That is what this loss is about. Fear. Republicans are frighteningly good at it. It's the only way they know how to win. When people are feeling good and confident and positive about each other, they vote Dem. When they are feeling fearful and insecure, they vote Repuglican, and then the Repuglicans rape them yet again. It's a little like an abusive relationship.
So you actually like the piece of the Senate has right now?
Won't work...besides there is a rumor that the public option is now back on the table....if that's the price of a vote delay on Health-care reform then by all means delay further..
You're free to pay whoever's insurance premium you would like.
I need to give Supergirl my address. Can you pay for my premiums too?
