There's nothing far-left about Dem policies and bills except the lies from the nihilist Repugs (no matter what the question, the answer is ALWAYS NO (and we don't negotiate)) and far-right, self-deluding, self-scaring nutjobs.
The health reform bill is so rotten with compromises to BigPharma and BigInsurance, including killing extremely popular Medicare-for-all public option as talked about during the pres campaign. I assume the 100M+ people who said they'd buy insurance from a public option thought it would be cheaper (affordable premiums, deductible, co-pays, pre-existing conditions accepted, no cancellations ie, humane) than BigInsurance rip-offs.
Repugs are paid to LOVE the broken health care system.

It's 58-42 since some prick from, IIRC, Louisiana has made his play for fame (for "Christian" supremacist votes) and flip-flopped out of voting for the health reform bill.
I know what it is, but why is it meaningful to you? You guys keep pasting this as if it means something.
58-42 means the Senate Repugs will filibuster (or just threaten/blackmail to) the healthcare reform bill to death.
It does mean something, and they shouldn't be happy about it.
They are holding on to anything they can. Obama is done.
It means that the dems will still be able to move their agenda along. Of course the party of no will raise it's head and they will be labeled fairly during the mid term election.. you do realize that the healthcare isn't the only legislation that is going to be passed in '10 don't you? Are you hoping that nothing gets passed and that the GOP just perpetuate a calendar year filibuster? Good luck with that.
