If they keep struggling the way they do, why is it worth it going into the playoffs at a low seed knowing that more than likely they'll get bounced right out of the first round. Why not get a lottery pick and use it to get some young talent or use it in a trade package to get someone good? Don't get me wrong, I'm a spurs fan and always will be but I just don't see them turning the corner like in past years. I think they're run is pretty much done and should start looking to rebuild now.

no doubt in my mind Spurs will be much much better next years with a lottery draft pick or not.

Tony will have a full summer rest and Hill/Blair will be play better. RJ and Dice can't play worse, the only question mark is Manu....

Nope. This is do-or-die mode for the Spurs since Duncan is in his later years, front office made some big trades and spending a lot of $$$, and we've got guys like Manu to evaluate since his contract ends this season. Without knowing how our team operates in the playoffs it only adds more questions and its easier to build off of a playoffs team than a complete rebuild. , the reason for tanking a season would be to rebuild and the Spurs already did that somewhat since nearly half the roster is new.

As a Spurs fan the best regular season gauge has yet to come, the Rodeo Road Trip.

Yeah, might as well just pack in Tim Duncan's healthiest year in a while, and just count on him to put up the same numbers next year.

i love this team, but if we have 20 losses before mid feb. i'll be rooting for them to lose. in the long run it will be better unless the front office totally blows the pick.

Yep might as well just pack in Blair's breakout year and expect his knees to hold up next year too.

They wouldn't land anybody in the draft that would help them much next year anyway. Gotta pull out all the stops now while Timmy is still here. Once this core group is gone and Timmy is retired then you try to build a good core and wait for the next probable superstar in the making to cone up and tank hard to get him. In the NBA you have to tank for those since only teams with the top 3 to 4 superstars in the game have a shot at the le. Go back 15 to 20 yrs and the '04 Pistons are about the only team that won a le without a top 4 superstar.

Fans of other teams are ecstatic at the idea of "maybe" making the playoffs

but a lot of Spurs "fans" would rather see them lose if they dont cruise easily into the postseason?

You aren't fans. Get off the bandwagon.

Are you all actually Spurs fans or are you Dallas fans? If you are Spurs fans, then this type of talk is ridiculous and crazy. How can you call yourself fans?

So who's going to be the new head coach?
How about the head coach starts taking some justified criticism for underachieving? I'm not really directing this at you, but the "who should we replace him with" response is arguing a strawman considering the reality: I don't think level headed and knowledgable spurfan want to replace him at all and know he is one of the best ever. We still must hold questionable decisions in account.

I agree. The 4 ring idiots act like Pop invented basketball. There are numerous coaches who could do a better job of coaching this team when set against Pop using small ball. My preference is with Pop. The logical Pop. I wonder if this Pop is starting to be like Woody Hayes. Great coach in his day, but he just lost his mind in the end.

    Damn.

The ridiculous part to me is that some of you actually believe everything you wrote.

Just quit watching. Have a true fan watch and tell you when the Spurs are looking like they have a chance and then tune in. It'll save you a lot of time figuring out how you'd change the team, coach, plays, ect. and thus win a championship. That way you won't have to watch the idiots playing and running the team that are mentally inferior to yourself ruining the season.

Man, we are spoiled fans. Do you realize that? I think you should imagine how other fanbases feel, and they feel it every season, they have felt it every season and they haven't even been at the top.

Besides, we still are. It isn't over. Dont be so panic

And yes of course you can criticize, and yes of course it isnt very well right now, yes we are doing ty. But come on, this is crazy.
