So you can surf the web while it stops your bleeding?
Not impressed. Supposedly costs more than it should, too.

$499 is too much? You can fully load the thing wit a 64GB Flash HD and 3G for less than $900.
Sure, that's more than those piece of scrap $300 netbooks that are out there. But that's because the thing still has the Apple logo on it.
I plan on getting one, the thing looks godly.
I have an iPhone and use a Mac for work and am generally happy with it, but I have to say I'm tired of Apple's marketing shtick. The promo for the iPad, wherein they try to pass off features that have now been around for 3 years as new and revelatory, is almost a parody of past campaigns.
"When you turn it, it spins! OMG!!!"
"When you pinch the screen, it changes size! OMG!!!"
"When you want to add applications, you can! OMG!!!"
"The new apps are 'an order of magnitude' more awesome than the old apps! OMG!!!"
"It's like a laptop, but smaller, and you can surf the net with it! OMG!!!"
I mean it's a cool alternative to the Kindle and netbooks, and it's priced low (by Apple standards) because they think their bookstore will clean up, but enough with the disingenuous, self-congratulatory horse already! It's just a big iPhone sans the phone! For this you generate a tsunami of hype?
and thank god its not a phone because it wouldn't take long for the blacks to figure out how to Velcro that to their heads.
What the is that supposed to mean?
just saw someone carrying an oversized iphone. I said "can it make calls?"...he said "no"...i said, "thats iWhacked". True story.
Just a giant iPod touch. Why the buy that?
I think it's his way of saying that black people like to strap commercial things to themselves to show off.
attention
Something along these lines

At least it matches his hair.
Sony announced they're coming out with it's compe or... the tamplet
Well thank you for acknowledging my clever post. Everyone else passed it up.
Too good to pass up... the jokes write themselves on this one...
At least there is a no-contract option for the iPad... no strings attached
I'm not quite an Apple junkie, but I won't buy PC at this point. And you Linux fanboys can sudo f -off, because I don't feel like command lining my OS.
That being said, the iPad looks really tempting and seems like a neat gadget, but so was the Macbook Air. I have an iMac at home that does everything I need to do as far as computing. I have an iPod that allows me to do everything that I want to do on the fly, such as internet, email, photos, movies, facebook, etc. Sure, it would be great to be doing all that stuff on a bigger screen, but I also can't fit that into my pocket.
That being said, I'd probably just sink the money into a nice Macbook Pro to replace my HP laptop before I'd get one of these things. But it's still a mighty tempting toy.
I wonder if apple stepped up on there security on this one. will a jailbreak even be possible at all?.
I think that's exactly what it is. I have an iMac and a MBP, and would want one of these if someone gave it to me - but it's just a gadget. It doesn't do anything that my current computers can't. It probably does less - but it looks cool.
I'd like it if I had a job where I did a lot of plane traveling. Like a kindle on steroids.
I won't be getting one but I heard about it.
