Easy Jefferson. I'd take Bowen in his prime, though.

Tough. Give me Bowen though. My blood pressure would rise when he drove to the hole, but our defense is pathetic right now.

cmon obv RJ, despite all his flaws. We were going nowhere with bowen at SF, a chance had to be made. And if you are opening this thead in hindsight, maybe you should wait for the entire season to complete, else it wouldnt be hindsight.

The way Pop coaches today, the question is which one would you take right now at the power forward position?

RJ...I don't think even Bowen could save this defense...so at least give us the (potential) offense...

If you asked me if I would do the trade again AT THE TIME, then yes, of course you do it..Jefferson is obviously the better individual player, and you trust that the FO did their job in scouting him..

As for who has been more effective, it's Bowen pretty easily..I made a thread last year about Bowen's effectiveness when a lot of people started doubting his remaining ability when Pop stopped playing him..

Bowen WAS still very effective defensively, he actually shut down A LOT of guys last year, while still making the 3 point shot..even at his age right now, Bowen would be a better defender than Bogans or Jefferson or any other perimeter player on the roster outside of Hill(Hairston doesn't play)..

So the trade made sense, but so far, last year's Bowen has been better IMO..

Yeah, but the Spurs will be licking their chops at that 15 mil expiring contract come this time next year.

    Bowen's defense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RJ's defense.

    Bowen's coldblooded. RJ's a pussy.

    Who? Jefferson

Why? Bowen is old, out-of-shape and retired.

    Let's move on.

jefferson. I'd take jefferson at any time over Bowen. I hated Bowens game. The spurs win anyways in 2005 and 2007 with Jefferson instead of Bowen. The league was weaker back then with no dominate teams like the Lakers now.

you are not giving Bowen credit. He defended the other team's best player successfully. RJ could never do as good a job as he did.

Bowen's D on Nash is the main reason we beat them 3 times in the playoffs.

I don't believe that. Duncan is the main reason they beat Phoenix. The spurs were the better team with Duncan most years. And the one time Phoenix was right there pretty even with the Spurs the spurs caught a break in that series with the suspension to Amare.
