PS to my last post. mouse, you'll notice that these days I stay out of 9/11 debates, the Apollo space mission thread, most local issues (except usually to ask questions), etc. I don't pretend to know more than I know. I generally stay out of political debates too because they are largely driven by ideology, not reason. It is the misinterpretation or ignorance of the weight of scientific evidence in fields that I understand deeply (through reading from a wide range of sources on all sides of a question) that prompts me to comment.
I've learned a lot about a wide range of subjects from reading the commentary of people in here and I thank them all for it. Off the top of my head, scott (who seems to have largely disappeared) knows his economics, bb his maths and physics and systems theory amongst many other things, and even Wild Stout says some interesting things which I freely admit even though I think he has misinterpreted the evidence on climate change, which we clearly agree to disagree on. Maybe you and I should just agree to disagree on evolution and leave it at that.

On a serious note the 9/11 threads are for Americans by Americans, the only thing foreigners know less about than 9/11 is the bill of rights

We know that it affected the course of world history. And we have access to the same information about it that you do. But I personally choose to stay out of it because, as you say, it is an issue primarily for Americans, even though it affected us all.
