That's rather bad.
Yet, would we not want a country in which the president deferred to governors and mayors?
Yikes. That's embarrassing.
The other instances were bad enough, but wth? The mayor of Tampa? Does he bow to all mayors, or is it because she's apparently of Asian descent? I can't understand this unless he's trying to show that he bows to everyone, thinking that will somehow make it less of an issue.
I hope he never meets Amadinejad or Kim Jong Il.
Maybe he dropped something...
I don't understand. The guy is showing some courtesy. What's the problem?
The American Eagle never bows before anyone, son.
I'm sure the Eagle doesn't. What makes you think Obama represents that Eagle?
lol that is some funny stuff.
I dont know much about the mayor, but I'd bet she is mostly Americanized so a bow would be kind of insulting. Its like if a black guy wants to give a formal handshake to a white guy but the white guy ends up giving him daps, and slaps and the fist bump all at the same time. He would be insulted.
What do you think the American Eagle stands for?
Freedom? Liberty? Pride?
Do you think that because Obama is showing some courtesy that he's tarnishing that pride?
Should he slap her next time and show her who is the boss?
It's con uous to genuflect, but it appears to be a mannerism with Mr. Obama.
That doesn't make it wrong, but it not being wrong doesn't mean it isn't still con uous.
Whatever stands out, opinion persecutes. Obama genuflecting all the time doesn't set off any particular alarms with that man inside, the real old texas me but it is a weird mannerism.
It looks like a version of the deep bow. He shows the top of his head, and lowers his eyes. It makes me wonder how people greet each other in Indonesia. It looks peculiar.

I really think that if what's deemed important these days is wether Obama bowed to somebody or if he did good debating GOP law makers, then we're really ed.
Deemed important by whom?
You gonna let gtown be your news filter?![]()
Presidents don't bow to anyone. Besides, if you say he did it out of courtesy then shouldn't the mayor have done the same? Obama needs to stop bowing to people. He's the president of America.
the .. you guys are stupid.
He either is a functional moron, or at best a soft bigot.
What? Don't you bow to ever asian person, and call them Danielson?
I wonder if Obama would bow to the burger king mascot.
Oh ! photoshop idea
Sure they don't...
Oh wait, you forgot to mention every president should be like Reagan...
And again, bottom line... who cares?

Oh well, at least it was a bow to an American this time.
The eagle is the sovereign people of the United States. The people bow to no other state. We threw off a monarch, though the modern presidency has essentially become one. If anything, the federal government should bow to the people. So, the president bowing to a mayor makes some sense.
