I used to love Hubie, but he's been starting to sound senile the last few years.

I am watching the 1985 Lakers vs. Celtics games, and Tommy Heinsohn, though obviously biased towards the Celtics, was not a raving lunatic.
If you were to close your eyes and listen to both Cheryl and Reggie...you'd swear they were the same person...
I like how Reggie says "<insert player here> WITH THE FINISH!" with no enthusiasm at all.
It pisses me off that two of the greatest Jazz games ever were called by Reggie Miller. Without question he's my most hated announcer.
Its hard to say who is the worst of all time. But Reggie is definitely arguable at the very least.
Mark Jackson back with the overly dramatic commentating. Goddamn he makes me sick. At least when Van Gundy is there he can talk over Jackson and drown him out a bit.
Early in the season he was talking about the league having an outdoor game every year, like NHL does now, saying how great it would be.
What a terrible idea. You'd think a jumpshooter would understand what a crappy idea that is.
It's either Miller or that bag Mark Jackson.
Growing up with 90s NBA, I am a solid Marv Albert fan. I'd like to hear Marv and Hubie together, with JVG for the dumb jokes.![]()
Reggie is beyond horrible, so is his sister..I would hate to be at a Miller family event, those voices would just be too much..
Mark Jackson is obviously horrible..
I hate Doug Collins for his obvious biases..
Hubie is good, but like BB said, he's getting senile..
The play-by-play guys are still good..Marv and Harlan for highlights are still top-notch, especially Marv..
I actually like Mark Jackson - if only because he and JVG have such great chemistry behind the mic.
They make me laugh, even Mark.
Yeah, I always get those two mixed up until they actually say their name.![]()
Bill Walton and Ralph Lawler was the best combination of announcers you'll ever see..I used to watch Clipper games just to listen to the announcing..
I like Mark Jackson for the same reason I like Bill Walton. I consider them comic relief. The overly dramatic, turgid commentary makes me
Van Gundy sucks. He's always nitpicking and ing about stupid stuff. It's like having a younger Andy Rooney in the booth.
Bill Walton purposely uses hyperbole to the extent that he does though..everything he says is tongue-in-cheek..Mark Jackson actually takes himself seriously, which is the scary part..
I'm not a fan of Jeff Van Gundy either but he's the lesser of two evils when it comes to him and Mark Jackson. In fact I can't stand the entire ABC/ESPN broadcast teams outside of Hubie Brown who's my favorite announcer of all-time. Yeah, he's going a bit senile in his old age but he still teaches the game while commentating and doesn't need to rely on corny gimmicks and catchphrases like the rest.
Hate to say it, but Sean Eliott is quickly becoming the new Tommy Heinsohn. As much as I love the Spurs and liked his game in college and in the NBA, he is almost completely incapable of seeing things objectively. At least a few times a game he'll say things like well that might have been a foul by Timmy but just barely... as if it should not have been called...
Van Gundy is the best. Not only does he offer good insight, but he is hilarious. Reggie is so bad.
The way Walton constantly trashed Michael Olowokandi was hilarious. Still, Chick Hearn and Stu Lantz is the best combination I ever heard, even if Lantz' contribution was negative (if you think the Kobe knob-slobbers are bad here, you should have listened to him).
