why is Laker fan so obsessed with kobe? the guy destroyed your dynasty, lost 2 nba finals for you, hinted at a trade demand in 2003, then demanded a trade in 2007, and raped a woman at worst, cheated on his wife at best.

this thread is just ChrisRichards aka Laker troll account ing that kobe was a role player during the laker 3peat

Kobe averaged 26, 5, and 6 in the playoffs during the Lakers 3 peat. that's a pretty good "role player"!!

Shaq in his prime wouldn't be a second banana to any perimeter player, not even Jordan. Yes, I said that. If the 90s Bulls had Shaq in his prime, the offense would run through Shaq.

Shaq is the number one guy at thier primes. If Shaq and Tim Duncan was on the same team, Shaq would tell Duncan to move out of his ing way.

Shaq hands down. In his prime, the opposing team's only viable strategy against Shaq was to foul him and hope he missed his free throws.

No he wouldn't because he wouldn't have to. Who do you think Duncan is? Kobe?

Would a Shaq/Duncan team work? No room to work with in the paint.

Tim Duncan has the perimeter skills to be an effective high post player if he were on the same team with Shaq. And he'd still play in the low post when Shaq is out of the game. But if Tim played most of his career with Shaq, even though they'd almost certainly win multiple les, I don't think Duncan would be viewed as the best power forward in the history of the game. I think he'd be viewed more like a Kevin McHale or James Worthy type of great player. Hall of Fame talent, but not one of the greatest ever. I think Shaq would be the #1 guy on the team, and Duncan would be second fiddle. But I also think Duncan would be perfectly fine with that.

It probably wouldn't work now but I think prime Duncan and prime Shaq would work.

edit: Though I'm not so sure if they wouldn't look even better together.

Imagine if Shaq could have shot a decent FT% in his prime.

If you have those two you figure out a way to make it work. Besides, Tim can play outside the paint as well as inside.

Sons, if Shaq shot 75-80% from the FT line in his prime he would of probably averaged 40 pts a game..I dont even wanna imagine what an elbow to the face feels like from that huge motha er.
