Yeah a younger band would've been better. Radiohead would be my choice.
I think the SB is done with "young talent" for a while. JT/JJ's stunt cost the network like $500K in fines that year. You're probably going to see classic rockers for another decade.
They could probably do better then 1/2 of the Who, however.

I never watch the halftime show but I'm sure they did. I'm a fan of The Who and all, but now the band is just an old, shriveled s of what it used to be.
The problem is that there is no 'young talent' out there. Nothing but individuals or groups who have one or two big hits, then they fade away. I5 minutes of fame one hit wonders. The old geezers they've been throwing out there lately aren't necessarily what I'd choose to see, but they're at least able to withstand the test of time and play songs that are considered classics.
Using aged rockers makes sense in a way. Zombie movies are very popular these days.
For the lead vocals being lip synched, the voiceover captured the "live" sound pretty decent.
Bring on Taylor Swift and Fleetwood Mac so I can totally ignore the halftime show instead of even having a mild interest in it only to wish I could fast forward 15 minutes!
The music was good the vocals were bad really bad.

Yeah, I'm old and they did suck IMO. What's with the lip syncing? I can't believe they're still alive. They kind of reversed the phrase "say nope to dope", though!!!

Why is that funny? The best album in the last 12 years is OK Computer. But it would be funny actually seeing a good young band live at halftime.
They were alright. Then again, anything is better than Bruce Springsteen. The visual effects were probably the best thing about this year's.

1) they're trying to appeal to older audiences
2) yes they sucked, singer can't sing for anymore, a disgrace
3) the who played a radio-hit generic set list, they have insane songs that the majority of americans have never heard
4) most super halftime performances in this day and age suck ballsack in this era anyway
5) I'd bet my scrot that Prince will easily go down as one of the best halftime performers in the 00's
