You can keep Tom Benson, though.
Dear New Orleans,
Once upon a time we tried to steal the Saints from your city. In retrospect, that was a weak move to try to loot your city while you were down. You deserve the Saints. The Saints are New Orleans and New Orleans is the Saints.
Sincerely,
San Antonio

Hey, if it wasn't for the league buying Tom Benson with $25 million of NFL welfare, they would be here already.
Is SA still looking for a team? have they considered the Chargers?
No thx.
You might wanna rethink that. LaDirkian won't be there next season, they might actually have a shot.

Speak for yourself. San Antonio would have been a terrific spot for the Saints. If you feel like apologizing for something apologize to the citizens of San Antonio who would have enjoyed NFL football since 2006.
As we've seen since then, San Antonio can hardly support the Spurs despite ungodly success. Getting an NFL would kill the Spurs.
New Orleans deserves the Saints. San Antonio needs to support its one pony before trying to spread its wings.
It doesn't matter anyways since Jerry Jones will never let San Antonio get a team, while San Antonians blindly support said owner.

So, 63,000 average attendance for a team no one cared about 6 months before Katrina matters nothing to you? BTW, we did that in less than 3 months marketing.
The Spurs are a different story. 41 homes games vs. TEN? That's 2 preseason and 8 regular season small fry. Numbers favor San Antonio. So....I don't understand your stance because you forget the facts of what went down.
No. If championship caliber basketball can't draw fans after the initial excitement phase, eventually the NFL team would struggle as well.
San Antonio could support the NBA or the NFL. Not both. There's a reason why the Spurs have fought against the NFL coming to San Antonio. I didn't understand how right they were until I saw the number of empty seats this season. If there was an NFL team fighting for money from fans and sponsors, it'd be ugly for the Spurs.
You are truly misguided my friend. How is it that New Orleans, with less than half the population of the San Antonio area, is able to successfully support the Saints and the Hornets? Is there some kind of special mojo in that New Orleans gumbo that makes that little town better able to do that then San Antonio? It is ridiculous to even contemplate. San Antonio would be a natural spot for an NFL team and the league knows it.
Bashing the town and blaming everyone from Jerry Jones to the Spurs only demonstrates that you don't have any legitimate reasons why San Antonio could not support one more pro franchise. This area is more than, and has been for awhile, capable of supporting multiple franchises. This fact will will become apparent as the NFL moves in and eventually MLB as well.
Maybe because they care a little more about sports and a little less about enchiladas.
