I think at worst he's gone for the game. Don't see why there should be long-term injury from that.

    Bulls’ Rose bruises hip

All-Star point guard Derrick Rose left the Chicago Bulls’ game against the Orlando Magic with a bruised right hip.

Rose was injured about 2 1/2 minutes into Wednesday’s game when he got knocked to the floor by Dwight Howard while driving for a layup. He clutched his lower back and was slow to get up.

He hit the free throw to complete the three-point play but left right after that.

Losing Rose would be a devastating blow for the Bulls. Last season’s NBA Rookie of the Year, he made his first All-Star team and was selected for the U.S. national team pool Wednesday.

X-rays came back negative, but the Bulls will hold their star point guard out for the remainder of the game. It’s uncertain if this will affect Rose’s participation in the All-Star festivities this weekend, but don’t be surprised to see him sit out to rest up for the second half of the season.
After X-rays taken at the arena showed no structural damage, Rose went for an MRI at Rush University Medical and was unavailable for comment. His status for the All-Star game is in question.

“If (the MRI) is OK, we’ll just have to see how his symptoms resolve over the next four days,” trainer Fred Tedeschi said. “If there’s not a great deal of inflammation, we can be optimistic.”

Bulls G Rose not badly hurt, All-Star game a go

The Chicago Bulls say All-Star point guard Derrick Rose suffered “no significant injury” to his hip or lower back after a hard foul by Orlando’s Dwight Howard.

The team said Thursday that X-rays and an MRI revealed no major damage, one day after Rose left the game with a bruised right hip.

Rose will be re-examined by team physician Dr. Brian Cole in Dallas on Saturday. Rose still hopes to defend his Skills Challenge le that night and participate in his first All-Star game on Sunday.

Rose was injured about 2 1/2 minutes into Wednesday’s 107-87 loss when he got knocked to the floor by Howard on a driving layup. He clutched his lower back and was slow to get to his feet.
