You know what? Pop. I'm tired of his -ass ways. We need a new coach. There, I said it.

And Finley, Bonner, small ball, sorry ass interior D, Blair not getting enough pt, Ian on the bench all year, international play, and losing to the good teams. Pop, quit already. Let Avery get this fired up.

    Go Spurs Go.

This showing by Blair pisses me off. Pop needs to learn to trust young guys.

Oh yeah, and the no-tape-watching, non-beast respecting refs, who make it hard on blair and hill.

Most of the Rooks were excited for Blair, but I noticed Jennings wasn't too happy about Blair getting those last couple rebounds/shot attempts .
did you see his twitter after the game? he had nothing but praise for dejaun.

San Antonio’s DeJuan Blair told his fellow NBA rookies before the game that he was going to try to get every rebound. Then he went out and set a record.

Blair grabbed a record 23 rebounds and scored 22 points for the first 20-20 game in the Rookie Challenge, leading the first-year players to a rare 140-128 victory over the sop res on Friday night.

“He started getting the rebounds for us. He did what he said he was going to do,” said Sacramento’s Tyreke Evans, who had 26 points and was the game’s MVP. “That’s why I wanted to share the (MVP) trophy with him.”
“Everyone came out and contributed,” Jennings said. “DeJuan Blair … that’s amazing right there.”

Haha that was funny. Blair was waiting there to take the trophy and show that he is co-MVP

Well Evans at ude is phenomenal. He is gonna be a great player.
Blair was playing against good froncourters, he was basicly there alone for the rooks.
I got to see the game though.

    Lucky.

If this game is archived on LP that's a major selling point for me.

It was interesting to see some of the stuff blair is capable of doing, but not allowed to do with the spurs. He had a really nice handle on the ball and was even taking jump shots. Some of the stuff he did on the court reminds me way people say hes the next Barkley.

Jennings tonight reminded me all that is wrong about Allen Iverson...
Eh, his game's more like Nick Van Exel's, imo.

Getting 22 and 23 and not receiving the MVP is absolutely beyond me. That is absurd. Tyreke Evans is sick but c'mon...

I think Evans deserved it as much as Blair. I have no problems with Blair padding his stats slightly at the end of the game at all but its not inconceivable to give Evans the MVP. He was integral to the rookies when the game was still in doubt and helped set the tone for the game (as did Blair).

I just enjoyed watching the game mostly. Blair is such a fun player to watch. He seems to have so much fun playing basketball and its infectious to just watch.

I was with you till you said Avery.

All I'd need to break me would be to see his little roach ass screaming on the sidelines. Come on.

    The Beast
Head of the Class? He Likes Being Called the Beast - DeJuan Blair Postgame Video #AS10
If it were ever more clear than at tonight's Rookie Challenge, DeJuan Blair is a beast. The Spurs sensational rookie put up 22 points and 23 rebounds (a Rookie Challenge record in boards, and DeJuan insists he had 24) in a spectacular performance in Dallas. http://www.nba.com/spurs/news/notebook.html

THAT"S why you don't trust internet personas. If he's running around looking butt hurt after the game and scowling, well, body language and facial expressions don't lie. People on FB and Twitter often do.

The great thing was that DeJuan got absolutley MOBBED at the buzzer. You could tell that his Rookie team mates genuinely liked him. He was probably the biggest reason that they won. If you looked at the game rosters, the Sophs CLEARLY had the size advantage, yet the Rookies outboarded them by 10, and won the game by 12. The next highest rebounder in the game after DeJuan's 23 was 7 by a couple of other players. Those extra possessions were critical.
