may be the must crucial stretch of the season at determining whether the Spurs make the playoffs.

Three games against weak opponents to finish off the RRT. If they don't sweep those then things have really gone from worse to worseterest (although Philly is traditionally a house of horrors for them).

The next six are all against teams in slots 6-11 pushing from below. Sweeping the rest of the RRT would give them a nice mindset for, say 5-1 against those six and opening up a little breathing room.

Then maybe we can start shopping for some of that specially processed meat.

    Wed 17 @ Indiana - Win
    Fri 19 @ Philadelphia - Win
    Sun 21 @ Detroit - Win
Wed 24 vs Oklahoma City - Loss
    Fri 26 @ Houston - Win
Sun 28 vs Phoenix - Loss
    March
    Mon 01 @ New Orleans - Loss
Fri 05 vs New Orleans - Win
    Sat 06 @ Memphis - Win

I think 6-3 is doable even if we aren't playing our best.

    Wed 17 @ Indiana - Win
    Fri 19 @ Philadelphia - Win
    Sun 21 @ Detroit - Win
Wed 24 vs Oklahoma City - Win (they will want to give us a home win after rodeo trip)
    Fri 26 @ Houston - Win
Sun 28 vs Phoenix - Win (if stoudemire leaves this would be less though)
    March
Mon 01 @ New Orleans - Win (without paul I think we can beat them)
Fri 05 vs New Orleans - Win
Sat 06 @ Memphis - Loss (this is the hardest one, memphis is a very good team at home right now)

8-1, yeah I'm very optimistic, but after all, we have to click rather sooner than later

I think we sweep the rest of the RRT and get on a roll. Can't see us losing our first game back to OKC, that would put us at 5 straight. Houston will likely have a few new teammates and so will Phoenix, so hopefully we catch those teams in transition and come out with easy wins. Paul should still be out for NO and then all we have is Memphis, and we go there riding a 9 game win streak. If this team plays like they played against Denver before the break, they could go on a nice run. Maybe I'm just the eternal optomist.

Hmmmmm.....according to the schedule we play Indiana the first game back from the ASB, unless you mean the first game back from the RRT.

If the Spurs don't go 8-1, or 9-0, they don't deserve to make the playoffs, which is already a less than a 50% probability.

I think they will go 7-2. They will have to shoot lights out against the bad defensive teams, Phoenix and Memphis.

think of it this way, if we finish this next batch of games 8-1, then we only need to go 12-10 to end with a 50-win season. doable, even if the schedule in mid-march is horrendous.

however, this is it - can we go 8-1 with our current roster? yes. will we? probably not.

Have to win at least 7 of 9.

There are only eight teams with home records below .500 and Indiana, Philly, and Detroit are three of them. 3-0 in those 3 games.

Three home games. 3-0 in those three games.

Three road games against teams with good or very good home records. At least 1-2 in those three games.

7-2 or better makes a 50 win season a realistic goal. Less than that and we're probably looking at the 8th seed or the lottery.

You don't agree that the Spurs have very little excuse not to win at least seven of the next nine?

We should be able to win them all. But thats how it should be, and not how I think it will be. Let's hope they are going to do better and make us proud in whats left of the season.

I think the Denver win gave em a good shot of confidence in the arm.

Why not be optimistic? What fun is sports being miserable?

Come on guys, have a little fun.

Tend to agree but I could see us beating Houston but then losing to Memphis. Those good young teams - OKC & Mem - are scary and can get on a roll.

I could even see 8-1 if the confidence from the Denver game carries over. I expect to see them win the rest of the RRT but all season long this team hasn't been able to sustain any kind of momentum.
