Those guys look positively giddy.
I listened to the press conference today and there was absolutely no excitement in their voices about being in Dallas. Just the usual rote "we're happy to play for a contender" said in extreme monotone.
Really, they were far happier talking about the good ol' days in Washington than they were talking about their future in Dallas.
It makes me wonder just how hard they're going to play, because honestly they sound like they don't even want to be here.
Those guys look positively giddy.
Mark Cuban is great for us since we have the fan perspective...but a player's perspective is probably pretty different since they know they're expendable and have big expectations to fulfill. They could also still be in shock of all the incredible bull that happened in Washington
But I don't watch those guys at press conferences, maybe thats how they are all the time?
Yeah, I guess we'll see how they behave on the court. I was just extremely underwhelmed by their enthusiasm (or lack thereof).
In his one on one interview Caron seemed much more interested, but in the end it's a business for them.
You need to litsen to the one on one interview. He sounds a lot more excited in that, he call Jet his big brother and jokes around with Marion.

lol@ shawn marion in there
Deshawn looks so gay with that beard
son most brothas don't show much excitement about anything like this because they have street cred to keep. they play it cool, but deep down inside they are jumping for joy just like a little white boy wearing one of those propeller caps.
Guarantee you they're more excited about playin in Dallas than J. Ho is in D.C.
They were crammed with so great expectations that they don't think they can fulfill well, thats why they're struggling with mental intensity that overwhelms their joy and excitement about joining a contender.
I don't see any minutes for Stevenson
Haywood is not much upgrade over Damp if at all
Butler is solid but dissapears at times, plus I don't see Marion and Buttler and Dirk on the floor at same time.
other than that, good trade for mavs. They are a better team beause of it.![]()
Considering Damp hasn't been able to play many times this year, Haywoods a huge upgrade. Quit being ignorant.
now you're just being a total dumbass
haywood is gotta be the most overrated bigman in spurstalk. He was averaging those numbers in the wizards for christ sake!!!
It's like those dumbass spursfans that said RJ will average 20ppg in the Spurs![]()
Haywood > Dampier. He is.
Question will be if Marion and Butler can be on the floor with Dirk. I'm not sure about that and is it better having Terry on the bench?
They definitely have more depth and talent with Haywood starting.
I think Butler will come off the bench early on and Dallas will go with Marion and Terry.
Can't wait to see Dallas at OKC tonight. I predict Dallas will win. No answer for Dirk, Haywood will play well, and the Mavs depth will be too much.
typically big time scorers that go to a team with multiple good scorers, will suffer in their scoring due to less opportunities (especially a guy like jefferson who is a volume scorer, as opposed to an efficient scorer). but dirty work guys that get to go to teams with multiple good scorers usually will get less attention on them, and even more ability to shine (see Pau Gasol). now im not saying that Haywood is on Gasol's level, but he basically does the same things Gasol does... protecting the paint, rebounding on both ends, blocking shots, and getting easy buckets. Gasol's totals may have dropped a little bit, but his efficiency shot through the roof after going to the Lakers.
Dumbass. Rebounding, and shot blocking translates very well. You should know that with a guy like DeJaun Blair on the Spurs.
if the Spurs traded for Haywood you'd be talking about how he's a top 3 defensive big in the league. Homer ass Spur fans.
Its not about if Damp or Haywood is better. With Damp healthy its a wash.
Its all about an injury insurance for Damp and more depth. With Damp on the bench or DNP the interior defense fell apart, now you cal fill 48min/12 fouls with a Damp/Haywood combo.
Butler and a healthy Josh is a wash too, but with the ankles Josh wont be the "old" Josh anymore. And he was kind of "stuck" in Dallas, i think he really need that change too.
So Butler is there an upgrade too.
It absolutely is not. Haywood can do one thing Dampier has never been able to do - catch a freaking pass.
thank you, finally a smart mavfan

Great move for Dallas and you have to think these guys will be happier playing for a contender whose owner doesn't hesitate to spend $$$. Congrats.
