Very Pop like, to give up on something that isn't lost yet.
Agreed. What a depressing thought.

If they were really giving up on the season, they'd be playing Hairston and Mahinmi.
Maybe they will start doing it from now on.
the way we looked against denver, there might be a slight possibility that the FO is going to take its chances with this team. and how inconsistent we have been all season, i dont see this team getting worse as they play more together.
*fingers crossed*
I disagree...I think the wear and tear on Duncan having to carry the load for most of the season is going to start the eventual decline in his play. Once he slows down, the team's chances of getting better will follow suit.
If they had a DeLorean, they'd go back to June 23rd and stop that call to Milwaukee.
Sounds like Mase is gonna get traded for cash.
unfortunately, this.
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/cat...-trade-reportsThe Miami Heat have indeed expressed interest in San Antonio’s Roger Mason, but the Miami deal that interested the Spurs most is no longer possible.
The Spurs were hoping to tempt Miami into absorbing Mason’s $3.8 million expiring contract into a $4.3 million trade exception that would have enabled the teams to complete a deal without San Antonio needing to take back another player. A future second-round pick from the Heat would have completed the transaction.
But the Heat, dealing with their own luxury-tax issues like San Antonio and reluctant to add to their payroll, ultimately declined.
And the trade exception in question -- created through the departure of Marcus Banks in Miami’s Shawn Marion trade with Toronto on Feb. 15, 2009 -- expired Monday at midnight.
The Spurs and Mason’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, have mutually agreed to pursue trades before Thursday’s 3 p.m. trading deadline, but it’ll take a new trade construction to get Mason to Miami now if the Heat want to try again.
San Antonio is more than $10 million over the luxury-tax threshold, so the deal proposed Monday to Miami would have cut its tax bill by nearly 40 percent. Miami is roughly $2.8 million over the tax threshold.
Why do NBA Trade rumors say that the grizzlies are in the mix?
yes we know. check the trade threads.
Gee, there's a move that inspires confidence in the fan base.
Not necessary.Mahinmi or Hairston arent important in the future of our team.
Can we ship Bonner & Finley together with Mason?![]()
Either Gasol or Conley or both!!
According to one source, the Sixers have inquired about San Antonio Spurs guard Roger Mason, as well as Golden State Warriors swingman Anthony Morrow. Neither player was available for the Sixers. In one case, the team wasn't willing to part with the player. In the other, the Sixers couldn't offer enough in return.

Not sure if that was posted anywhere already.
Looks like Jason Kapono was a fail for the Sixers.
Interesting. My guess is that Morrow wasn't available and they couldn't give up enough for Mason. As much as the Spurs were willing to give away Mason for nothing, I think they'd rather keep him than get any old expiring contract.
When I first read this I assumed it was the Warriors who weren't willing to part with the player, but I'm hoping that it was the Spurs and that they are still trying to use Mason to work a trade that will help them (wishful thinking, I know, but maybe . . .).
I have two coins totaling thirty cents, and one of them is not a nickel. What are they?
a quarter and a nickel. One of them is not a nickel, but the other is.
