Have fun in the Eurotrash leagues, frenchie.
Does the idiot see how NT obligations have hurt both Duncan and Ginobili during their primes??? Could the guy really be selfish enough to jeopardize another season with injuries do to overplaying/overworking himself, especially when it involves one of the last two seasons with Timmy as his teammate? I love Tony Parker as a player, but if he choices his NT over getting healthy for next season, he should be moved immediately.

I define great as legendary hall of famers.. Tony was never that. He might get in the hall of fame but he'll never be seen as one of the best PG's of all time.. He's not even in the conversation for best PG of his generation.. He's a very good player who has had an all star level playing career and got to play on some great Spurs teams..
No clearly he's not that. But when I say you can't build around him, I just mean you aren't winning a le if he is the best player on your team.
Man, who gives a if he is not the best PG of all time..
For that matter, who gives a if TD is the best PF of all time if we fail to make the playoffs this season..
Those who are defending Parker in this decision seem to be missing the point that has been stressed repeatedly....PF does not heal without rest, and lots of it. Most reasonable people, including myself, have no issue with players playing for thier country. However, that player is being grossly irresponsible if they decide to play when the only way to recover from the injury they have is to REST.
Parker playing this summer all but guarantees that he will be limited once again next season.
Nailed it.
I still don't think he'll play either... that would be very stupid.
That SJax/Biedrins for TP/Finley blockbuster ain't looking too bad now huh?

it would be killing his own career in the nba to play over the summer, at least with the spurs. parker is smart enough to not play. not having the summer to rest his already high mileage body is a detriment to the team. he will most likely be out the door if he even attempts to play with the national team. i just wish ginobili and parker figured all this out before adding even more miles to their body.
Off-Season sign and trade bait.
Hill is ready for a starting gig.
The happiest moment of my Spur fandom was hearing Tim say " FIBA". I don't like it when any of them play. Gasol? Injuries. Yao? You really think he has a choice whether he plays or not? As for the Americans, I think you'll see a change just in time for the 2012 Olympics. The big names won't play any more. USA Basketball is totally in bed with the NBA, and the players will be angry enough after the lockout to boycott.
People talk a lot about Tony and Manu, because they play for the Spurs. Duh. It's a Spurs forum, and their constant injuries are a Spurs issue.
That one looks pretty good too, Benefactor.
You think there's a chance the grizz would have done that earlier in year before it came out that Parker had planar fascitis?
They might have, but the Spurs wouldn't. I came up with it mostly because of the rumors that Memphis was shopping Mayo and Conley before the deadline.
Wow, didn't hear that they were getting shopped. I thought Mayo was the future of the franchise. What happened?
This is pure speculation, but maybe this is just the "prelude" so when the lakers swoop in and trade for Conley/Mayo next year they will use the same excuse as the Gasol trade.. "Oh, OJ wasn't happy in Memphis and wanted out, yadda yadda"
“No, this summer I have the national team,” Parker said, somewhat surprisingly.
Oh.
I took a moment to clarify, but the answer stuck. Unless Parker’s body simply quits, he plans to play this summer.![]()
Go play TP, so maybe you can have a great game like tonight or a great season like this one.
Perhaps one of our French friends can provide a better translation than Google. This part is on topic:
Out for six weeks due to a fractured right hand TP is questioned whether "the injury could change anything in his decision to play with the team of France this summer."
"No, nothing changes, I still think playing. "

parker is a idiot...trade him for some chris paul
well unfortunately I see Parker being traded this offseason. After all, Spurs front office needs to put the blame on someone.
Tony, fffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuu.....
Come on dude, I know the hand had nothing to do with the NT, but ing rest I don't want to see you end up like my main man Manu (although this season certainly has been just as ty)
Parker is such a . I can't stand this er now a days
