What part would you like re-explained? If the Spurs muck through the last part of the season the way they have so far, they probably won't make the playoffs anyway. The worst thing that could happen is for them to sneak in, lose to Denver or LA and have an excuse not to take a hard look in the mirror this summer.
lol if this team loses in the first round they will take a hard look in the mirror. if they end up making it further... well then that means somethings working.... should no fan start to hope there team loses.
i hate small ball as much as the next person but if the spurs are playing the lakers and ing rj is our power forward im not going to start rooting for purple and gold LOL
Spurs drop handful of the games but go 22-8 and go onto win another le![]()
If they lose to the Nuggets or the Lakers they have a built in excuse "Well nobody was going to beat the Lakers" and then we'll see Matt Bonner and Keith Bogans starting next year too.
And who said anything about not rooting for them? I'd much prefer they actually play hard, play with their players at their proper positions and go on a hot streak and get the two or three seed and make a deep run. I just mentioned what I'd like to see happen if they continue to away their potential every night.
20-10, to finish 51-31 and at least get out of the first round...I think.
I predict they win the division and win in the first round playoffs. Then they will get spanked in the second round by the Lakers.
Taking a long, hard, look in the mirror sounds a bit dramatic. Its what happens in every dynasty. Teams get old and the dynasty eventually ends. With the Spurs not being able to compete finiancially with the big boys, they cannot simply buy super stars. Being lucky twice landed them 1 hall of famer and another future one. Pop and RC did a great job surrounding DROB and Duncan with solid role players, as well as uncovering stars in their own right in Ginoboli and Parker. Its been a great run, maybe this year, or next, this current group of Spurs can squeeze out another le run, but either way, its been a great run. I'd say overall the FO has done a good job in the draft at finding good players in the later rounds. Lets hope this can continue in the future.
So Which starting lineup would you like to see?
i'm super optimistic all the time about this team. I decided on 24-6. I'll bring it down to earth a bit and say 22-8. Go spurs go. i think the big three have looked good lately. maybe we can make something happen.
Team seems to be coming together. Probably a nice addition or two before the March 1 deadline.
Still, it's hard to justify much more than 25-5. So 25-5.
It seems like there are many who see the Spurs either A. Missing the playoffs or B. Making the playoffs and losing the 1st round.
Seriously, if there has been anything so annoying, its been all these so calls FANS clamoring for trade and then getting all betsy wetsy when they see this team not playing up to thier full potential. Honestly, its a joke to call yourself a fan of this team if you are already giving up on them. New York back in 99 went from being an 8 seed to going to the Finals. When it comes to the second half of the season and late pushes down the stretch I'd be willing to bet the Spurs will get thier act together. At their worst, they have still managed to be 31-21 (5th in the West). This whole conference has been nothing but an unpredicatable mess. Everyone is losing to everyone. Last night I saw a Cavs team get beat in Cleveland by the same team we put a beat down on. There is plenty of time for this team to get its act together. We as fans think its so easy to gel as a team and instantly find success. Obviously this system is one of the hardest to learn and some new players are finding it difficult to get it together.
Obviously, there is no explanation for RJ shooting horribly, but he will get it together. I never doubt this team as long as Tim, tony, and manu are playing. POP is a championship coach. He and Tim will find a way to motivate this team and get them out of this funk. Win or lose there should be no crying about how this team didnt do this or they should have done that....If your a FAN, then know that this team will get it together and do some damage come playoff time.
They'll go 22-8. Anything is possible in the playoffs.
I just hope for the best for the our team!! I honestly think that if we make the playoff, a lot of team in the west will take us seriously. We are still dangerous minus pop's losing it.
Parker
Ginobili
Jefferson
Duncan
Mahinmi
Starters play a minimum of 35 minutes every night unless there's a blowout.
The Spurs have gone out and competed financially with the big boys this season, and also got the steal of the draft. Their core is still good enough to be doing better than they are, and they've got solid role players. If they pull their collective heads out of their asses they can still salvage this season. If not, it's not likely that the Spurs have an impact on the playoff race for the forseeable future.
22 - 8, we're beasting it up this last part of the season, book it
Mahimni. Wow you really do hate Bonner. Seroiusly, it would great if Mahimni can somehow work his way into the rotation in the 2nd-half of the season, but as a starter? Cmon now.
Yeah, Ginobili with 35 minutes is just stupid, Mahinmi 35 minutes is beyond stupid
