I'm almost as mad as that time in 2003 when we lost to the mavs and mookie punched a hole in his apartment wall which he later had to cover up with a Sports Illustrated picture of TJ Ford.
Being a Spurs fan is painful right now. Rebuilding at least is somewhat exciting. Watching a team that has no chance even though they are built to win now is just kinda sad.

Well, at least there are enough Cowboy fans around to show us how it's done.![]()
Kinda?
It's downright depressing.

T.J Ford can play center for our team.
The thing is....mookie got mad back then because we were the outright best team in the entire world that year bar none
and we lost one game
this is such a sickening feeling because we are finally having to look in the mirror and realize
it
is
over
It's like withdrawal from a drug or something
of course not but still this month he has an average of 10 pts 6 rebounds 1,5 steals and 2 blks in 23 min ....
Wow. You're sure raising the bar!![]()
not getting thomas really hurt us. he was exactly what we needed. this team is just going to have to hope for splitter, a decent pick in the draft and some healthy bodies for next season (assuming you can bring back manu and get another year or two from tim and manu at a high level)
Exactly. That's where I am right now. I was really hoping we'd ship out some expirings for a couple of young players (Ty, an athletic project wing) before the deadline, but we stood pat. Very frustrating. The FO seem to think we're still relevant!?![]()
76ers surge in 4th to beat Spurs 106-94
Lou Williams scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, fueling a decisive run that lifted the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-94 victory Friday night over the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs have lost eight of their last 10 trips to Philadelphia, dating back to the 1999-2000 season.
Andre Iguodala had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Philadelphia. Elton Brand added 18 and seven rebounds. The Sixers outscored the Spurs 33-18 in the final 12 minutes.
The Spurs received only a combined 12 points from Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. Parker finished just 1 for 9 from the field.
San Antonio led for much of the first three quarters because of Manu Ginobili, who scored a game-high 24 points on 9 for 18 shooting.
Despite missing 10 straight shots from the field in the second quarter, the Spurs led 52-45 at halftime. Ginobili broke open a tight first half with a personal 8-0 run in the final minutes of the second quarter.
The Sixers seemed poised to get within one midway through the third when the 254-pound Elton Brand rumbled down the court on a break, shooed away 180-pound guard George Hill, who amusingly tried to bump him off track, and finished the break with a dunk.
But Brand was called for a charge, and Sixers center Samuel Dalembert drew a technical foul. Moments later, Hill hit a 3 to return the Spurs’ lead to seven.
Brand, who had 10 points in the third, spun by rookie forward DeJuan Blair to start a 9-0 run that gave the Sixers a 77-76 edge early in the fourth.
San Antonio trailed 87-86 when the Sixers scored 13 straight to seal it.
NOTES: Sixers guard Willie Green missed the game with a slightly separated left shoulder suffered in Tuesday’s loss to Miami. Forward Jason Smith missed his second straight game with a sprained right ankle. Jodie Meeks, acquired Wednesday in a trade with Milwaukee, made his Sixers debut late in the fourth quarter. Francisco Elson, the other player the Sixers acquired in the deal, is still recovering from hernia surgery. The Sixers wore their red uniforms to raise awareness of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. The coaches wore red ties.

76ers surge in 4th to beat Spurs 106-94
The Philadelphia 76ers finally figured out the fourth quarter.
Lou Williams scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth, fueling a decisive run that lifted the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-94 victory Friday night over the San Antonio Spurs.
The Sixers were 3-24 this season when they either trailed or were tied after three quarters. The fourth also has been their least productive quarter, averaging 23.4 points and shooting 43.1 percent from the field.
But the Philadelphia reversed that trend against San Antonio. They opened the fourth quarter down three but outscored the Spurs 33-18, including an 18-3 run.
“That’s the winning quarter,” said Williams, who last season averaged a team-high 5.1 points in the final 12 minutes and this season is averaging 4.3, second on the team.
“We were able to run,” Williams said. “That’s always been the key to our success—being able to get out on the fastbreak.”
The Spurs have lost eight of their last 10 trips to Philadelphia, dating back to the 1999-2000 season.
Andre Iguodala had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Philadelphia.
The Sixers in the fourth quarter shot 55 percent and had four of their eight steals and six of their 11 takeaways.
“It just seemed to be a defensive whirlwind for about four minutes there when Lou and Thaddeus (Young) came in,” Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said. “We got steals, blocks and turnovers, and we rebounded when we really had to.”
The Spurs received only a combined 12 points from Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. Bothered by foot, ankle and hip injuries, Parker finished 1 for 9 from the field.
“He’s got some problems,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said.

But Brand was called for a charge, and Sixers center Samuel Dalembert drew his second technical foul in a 32-second span and was ejected.
“That’s a great teammate,” said Brand, who had 18 points and seven rebounds. “Hopefully it helps me get the next call or something. When you play with that type of emotion, it makes our team better.”
Moments later, Hill hit a 3 to return the Spurs’ lead to seven.
“The Sixers brought their athleticism, their aggressiveness and their pressure in the second half, and we folded,” Popovich said. They made it a fast-break contest in the second half. That was the ball game.”
Brand, who had 10 points in the third, spun by rookie forward DeJuan Blair to start a 9-0 run that gave the Sixers a 77-76 edge early in the fourth.
San Antonio trailed 87-86 when the Sixers scored 13 straight to seal it.
“We led most of this game,” Spurs forward Richard Jefferson said. “Then in the last six minutes, we couldn’t hit a shot.”
Saddest thing about this loss is that half of the guys that were ruining us in the fourth quarter on the Sixers roster I had never even heard of

With the right lineups, and a healthy duncan and parker, I still think this team can win a playoff series or two. But the chances of smart coaching decisions, and the miraculous recovery of duncan and parker are slim at best.
Very painful!!!! And it's not looking good for the immediate future.......the Spurs, as we've come to know & love, will be going through a change....it was fun....while it lasted.......![]()
Nooobuuudddy knows the trouble I've seen
Nooobudddy knows but Mav Fan
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday....
Man, Spurs really should have found a way to get ride of all their expirings. Failing on that might come back to haunt them next season.
Don't frown because it's over, smile because it happened.
And brother, it's indeed OVER.
Let the grand rebuilding begin!
For some reason I would have felt better for me if we lost to Denver and won tonight.
Because if we lost to Denver, it would have been expected. Every time this team wins against a good team, we get excited and start to believe again...only to be beaten down again by an inferior team.
Just got home after a 1:30 drive... Disappointing loss, but not unexpected. I've yet to see the Spurs win in tha building. Everything came apart in the 4th and they run us out of the building.
I tried to keep an eye on Pop, and he was really pissed the first 3 or 4 really bad defensive lapses. With Bogans, RJ, Blair and Hill. But after a while he just stopped.
Despite the loss, a good time was had with the wife. Lots of Spurs fansin the arena. I might post some pictures tomorrow.
Did the wife ask "why is #10 and that pasty guy starting the game for your team?"..
