As bad as we've been doing, the Pistons have been doing even worse. This game will be a dogfight in Detroit. We need a win..Go Spurs!! I wonder @ TP. We played well in Denver with him resting.

Because the ball moves better without TP. If the injury is gonna bother him and limit him, I say they should go as long as they can without him.

    Pistons Vs. Spurs Game 2

I miss the old days of a few years back as both teams are currently dealing with struggles that neither franchise are accustomed to. What was once thought to become a long time rivalry is now just another game on the schedule.

Both teams need a W. Obviously a W means a of alot more for the Spurs than it does the Pistons at this point though.

Rip and Tay both recently back from long injuries (they have missed a combined 59 games), are both starting to play very well. Rip especially has been putting up big points lately. This has however taken Stuckey out of the picture a bit. He's been looking to run the point more than score buckets. All fine, but he does need to find a better balance. His ability to get to the hole and draw fouls is more needed than we've seen from him in the last few.

I'm hoping to see each teams rooks go at it a bit tonight. Probably the 2 best 2nd rounders this year, Jonas Jerebko and Dajuan Blair both got game and have each carved out a role on their respective teams. Jonas has been our starting PF and done quite well. A Hard worker and probably more of a hustler than a 'skilled' player who can cause trouble for opponents. Works mostly inside getting rebounds and putbacks but can put it on the floor and also stroke it from 3.

Neither of our offseason acquisitions are playing great right now. Villanueva is hot or cold and Gordon is perhaps finding it difficult to find a rhythm with us having so many scoring guards. Injuries have also effected both of them.

The Pistons have started games off pretty well lately, but struggled with bench play. Someone needs to get it going for us to have a chance.

I'm looking for a Piston win today. We're not the better team but things are just aligning themselves for us. Parker won't play, and with Dice back in the Palace I expect Detroit to be a bit more lively. And I believe this is the Spurs 8th??? road game, ending the Rodeo road trip.

    Pistons: 92
    Spurs: 84

That's my take, giving Spurs fans a little Detroit perspective. Looking forward to the game, and hope like the Spurs get things going again to get Dice a chance to get that ring.

    Parker will sit, have MRI
    By Jeff McDonald

Tony Parker will miss today's game at Detroit, coach Gregg Popovich said. Parker, who is battling a strained left hip flexor, will have an MRI on Monday in San Antonio to determine the extent of the injury.

Parker originally suffered his latest injury Feb. 8 against the Lakers, and it has not responded well to treatment. A firmer timetable for Parker's return will be determined after the MRI.

"I thought he was going to be OK after the Indiana game," Popovich said, referring to Wednesday's victory over the Pacers in which Parker had 28 points. "He scored a thousand points that game. Then he came up in the Philly game, he was hurting. So I told him, 'We're going to sit you.' "

In Parker's absence, George Hill will slide to point guard, creating a domino effect in the starting lineup. The Spurs will open small, starting Roger Mason at shooting guard, Keith Bogans at small forward and Richard Jefferson at power forward.

It will be Popovich's 18th unique starting lineup this season.

"Because I'm tricky and smart," Popovich said with a laugh. "This will certainly work, I'm sure."

In related news, the Spurs have recalled Malik Hairston from Austin to replace Parker on the active roster.

Bill Schoening: What is it that you try to bring to the game.

Malik Hairston: I try to bring my youth, athleticism and energy; I just want to be a real sparkplug.

It's no wonder Pop can't find the time for him . . .

This season stopped being painful once I started viewing Pop's approach as satire.

Do y'all think it's a good idea to open a thread like: "Promise something you'll have to do if the Spurs win it all this year"?

I would walk barefoot from Austin to the San Antonio Riverwalk singing "Go Spurs Go" would anybody join?
