He already has 2 blocked shots in 7 minutes...![]()
Pop tinkered with "every conceivable" starting line up but never gave this "old guy" a chance.
Pop you better have some super slick championship ace up the sleeve.
He already has 2 blocked shots in 7 minutes...![]()
Ratliff started for the spurs and managed to average 0.7 points and 0.7 rebounds in 3 games, this thread fails
And RJ started for the Spurs and....
At any rate, I like what Larry Brown is doing... He's starting Theo and bringing TT off the bench. It makes Tyrus have to earn the starting job.
I have a lot of respect for Larry... The only knock is that he almost always ends up rubbing on the players the wrong way. He also seems to like a lot more building teams than actually staying with them...
Pop's 2005 ring says otherwise. Head to head.
Pop also had a top ten player of all time on his team, plus a shooting guard that is at times the second best in the league.
great stat...... how many minutes came with that?
Does our starting center have 2 blks all yr?
(Bonner)
Yes he does.
All is good then
Spurs '10 champs
I gotta say, that 37 year old broken back is holding up pretty well after 30 minutes tonight... The double digit scoring is just gravy...
I'm glad for Theo, he obviously found a team that is not saving him for the playoffs...![]()
Ratliff played 30 minutes and he didn't die?!..what the is going on?!..my world is upside down right now..
Another example of coaching being overrated..
Is Doc Rivers a "better" coach than Phil Jackson?..
Make sure not to mention the nine minutes, 13 minutes and eight minutes in those three starts, because your obvious attempt to mislead people too lazy to look them up suddenly becomes apparent.
He had 4 blocks during that time. If anyone not named Duncan has gotten 4 blocks in 30 minutes this year for the Spurs, it's likely an aberration.
What happened with SJax? Did he foul out?
With Nazr and Chandler out for the game there was no other choice than starting Ratliff. Good to see he has done well 5-6 shooting, 2 blocks but what the ? Just 2 rebounds?
there is simply NO rational explanation for the Ratliff debacle.
we signed him to boost out interior defense, our most glaring problem since '07.
so we sign him....for what we need so bad.....then Pop decided to NOT PLAY HIM EVER...and then dispose of him for something so absurd it had to have been done out of spite.
meanwhile. larry brown immediately sees what he can still bring and gives him minutes, in which he does EXACTLY what hes supposed to do-what hes done his whole career- what the Spurs signed him for....defend the paint and alter shots.
pop and his senile, pompous 'strategies'.
I thought Pop kissed Larry Browns ass.![]()
Pop's not senile. He's the same now as he was a decade earlier.
Back in the Lakers' three-peat years, Pop would run 4-down to death, even when it was clear that it wasn't working.
Now, he's going through the same routine, except with small ball instead of 4-down.
Blame that on his Stonecutter Credo. It's all fine when the stonecutter has the right tools to work with, but it's a different story if the stonecutter is bashing away at the rock with only his head.
Pop, ANY other NBA coach would have done better with what we have this year. PERIOD.
I don't think Larry ever coached an ABA champion.
well now he's playin with the best rebounding SF in the league, and SJax at the SG gives him a height advantage and even more rebounding.
