Dude, I knew Doughty was good. But damn, the kid had an extra gear tonight that I didn't know he had.

He's simply way too good for only being 20.

Keith blew balls tonight. I expect more out of him.

And please somebody get Weber out of Nashville.

Keith has been sucking since the tournament started

Doughty is amazing; I saw him play when I went to a Canadiens - Kings game last season

Very impressive; the only Hab who owned him was Kovalev, but the kid is only 20

Slovakia upsets Sweden 4-3. Man Canada might beat the Slovaks worse than they beat Russia. Also, this was the 4th straight time that the defending gold medalists lost in the quarterfinals.

    Friday's schedule:

    USA-Finland at 3pm ET
    Canada-Slovakia at 9:30pm ET

And DR, are you enjoying the HF meltdown as much as I am?
Most certainly, my good man. The the collective whining could be heard from across the river. Some call it wind, I call it music.

But now that Canada has pulled their together and found their line combos, they look to be pretty much unstoppable.

If the US plays Canada again, I am thinking they redeem themselves in a big way. But I wouldnt exactly cry that the youngest team in the tournament took Silver.

✢ Should had a real GM, not some wannabe.

✢ Bab is overrated and simply not a good coach.

✢ Should have brought Green. And Stamkos. And St. Louis. And Lecavalier. And JayBo.

✢ Why are we using the Olympics as the RWs grooming ground? - my favorite-

✢ Bab is an idiot for letting arguably the #1 player in the world take the PS over Rick Nash, even though Nash looked like he was winded and gassed at the bench.

    ing Canucks.

Man, I fell asleep before the 3rd period started and missed the end of the Slovak/Sweden game.

Good job by the Slovakians, but they'll probably be lambasted by the Canucks.

    Slovaks are a sleeper team.

Pretty good keeper and some punch up front. I don't know if their defense, which has played quite well, can handle the Maple Syrup, though.

TBH, if Canada plays like they did last night, no one will come close to stopping them.

Bab being a coach is the one I find the most funny. Yeah, he's only went to the Finals two years in a row, 3 times in his career. He doesnt know .

So much fail on that board its almost hard to digest. I get infractions every other day...most of the time because I am not particularly polite to moderators who send me PMs.

Honestly, that board takes itself waaaaay too seriously. They send me PMs, like....reprimanding me or something like I give a , like my time there means something to me.

So yeah, it has an almost unlimited entertainment value...especially when Canada loses.

I normally don't spend too much time there because 1) They whine like es. 2.) The place is run like Auschwitz. 3.) Most of the posts are in agreement with each other.

The History of Hockey forum is top-notch, though. And the people that post in there stay far, far away from the rest of the boards, for the most part.

OMG, HFboards members and moderators are so uptight

I remember arguing with Capitals fans when the Habs beat down the Caps earlier this season.

Just arguing, not trolling; basically saying that with their "D" and "goaltending", they won't win the Cup

    I got a 2 day ban

Man, that Canadian CHOKED in Men's Aerials. Leading after his jump, and had the final jump of the event. He goes with a low difficulty jump and couldn't stick it. Drops from 1st to 5th.

The International Olympic Committee will investigate the actions of Canadian women's hockey players who celebrated their gold medal victory Thursday night by swigging beer and smoking cigars on the ice in Vancouver.

A number of players, including 18-year-old superstar Marie-Philip Poulin, were drinking alcohol on the ice following the team's 2-0 defeat of the United States. (The legal drinking age in British Columbia is 19.) Players lingered for more than 70 minutes after the awards ceremony reveling in the arena, which was empty except for media and arena staff. (Click here to view a slideshow of the celebration.)

Gilbert Felli, the IOC's executive director of the Olympic Games, said that drinking in public was "not what we want to see" from athletes at an Olympic venue. The organization will investigate the actions and will speak with the international hockey federation and Canadian Olympic Committee and ask them to "act accordingly."

Steve Keough, a spokesman for the Canadian Olympic Committee, told the Associated Press, “We condone celebrations. … We don’t condone actions of irresponsibility. I think Canadians understand it’s quite an emotional moment for our team. It was not our intention to go against any IOC protocols.”

To be sure, the Canadian women's hockey team should have acted with more class and been a little more discreet with its celebration. But to do something drastic like ban the team from the Closing Ceremony or force them out of the Olympic Village would be an overreaction. In past Olympics we've seen steroids, political boycotts, cheating and judging scandals. A few puffs of a cigar hardly seems to be in the same league.
