My 1st one in theater was VI, Undiscovered country. My dad and I drove 30 miles away to see it.
We had this dollar-threatre at the end of your street and it was there for, like, a week. My father had decided that we needed to wait. I think he was doing something as pedestrian as having to work overtime. Anyway, it left as soon as it got there! We waited all that time (it must've been late-January, early-February at that time, 1992) and they usually had runs from 2-4 weeks for each movie. Because it was so late, we didn't get the opportunity to see it.

My first memorable Star Trek experience was the TNG episode, original run, of "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II." They ran the season-finale and season-premiere back-to-back. I can still remember my mother explaining what was happening when they took Captain Picard off the bridge. I was terrified, mostly because the episode had an emotional impact on her. I'm a life-long Trekkie. Trek, Star Wars, and Pistons basketball were all introduced before age 5. Been indulging them ever since. It makes me feel like a kid again.

I think it was The Jungle Book (the animated one), but it might have been ET.

Might have been Three Amigos. I would have been 4 or so. Didn't get the "mail plane" joke for nearly a decade.

First movie I remember seeing was Superman at southpark mall. I was like 5/6 in 84/85. It must have been a re-showing cause didnt the original come out like in 78 or something. Anyways, I was ing entranced by that movie. For a 5/6 year old boy, that movie was amazing.

God. Cameron Diaz was SO hot in The Mask.

Then, somewhere along the lines, she turned stick figure and my attraction to her has never returned.

Damn. Aside from your choice in NBA teams, you've got some excellent taste.

I could say the same about you, but I actually respect the Spurs Fpoonsie...at least you're not a Celtic fan though...I am a Laker fan til I die!

I was watching The Last Starfighter...I think I saw that in the theater.

I think it was Snow White. But the first movie I really remember going to was Oliver and Company.

I like that movie a lot! And "American Tail" !

I remember seeing "The Little Mermaid" but would have to ask my mom which was the first movie she took me to.

    Good thread.

I remember when this hit. It was a mega blockbuster and some friends from the neighborhood tagged along to go watch it on the big screen. It was the coolest thing ever at the time, lol.

Hahaha, i just bought this movie on VHS the other day for a dollar. My mom took me to see that when i was like 2 or 3, and she had to take me out of theater because I freaked out when the clone is transforming in the bed. Great flick man.

Anther good one I saw the other day from my childhood was The Beastmaster, it was a trip. Movies have sure tailed off since my youth.

I'm going to have to replace all the videos I have on VHS with blu ray...I remember The Beastmaster and how I used to try to talk to my childhood cat. He probably thought I was on something. Little did that cat know I wasn't...

Anyone remember Gleaming the Cube or Silver Bullet?
