Would that be something? RJ's expiring contract right at the time Durant becomes available?
Of course...it would take a visionary person to be thinking that far ahead. But as the article states...tick, tick, tick. Time and money always seem to go fast.
One can only hope.
No one is getting Durant in 2011 other than OKC; they'll match any offer sheet. Only chance Durant has of getting out of OKC (if he wants out) is via trade or unrestricted free agency in 2012.
Even then, you could make the argument that the Wizards would have grabbed him.
And the Thunder would have Nate Robinson, Brandon Roy, Martell Webster, and Spencer Hawes from their Seattle days, plus Blake Griffin.
No, Thunder will give him the max.
Wouldn't it also depend on any new cba structure?
The scenario could play out well for the Spurs at the end of next season as perhaps one of the few teams that could actually compete for Durant.
Do the Spurs offer Tony a contract extension? If not...the Spurs would be sitting pretty for a Durant negotiation. Duncan's final year along with a host of minimum salary players in Blair, McDyess, Hill plus whomever the Spurs would get in the draft could make it fiscally possible to outbid what OKC would be willing to spend.
Of course we're talking a year and a half down the road. But what if management is thinking the same as far as landing a superstar to replace Duncan?
Nope. Come 2010 off-season, the Thunder are going to offer a max contract extension to Durant. No way they are going to risk losing their superstar and rebuild again for the next few years.
Time to get up. Wake up, you've been dreaming.
I think we all agree its not going to happen... it would take durant and okc not getting along.... if that were to happen, I think the Spurs would be great for Durant. Not that he needs more fans, but the UT connection is huge in SA.
I don't think some of you understand the ceiling for durant. When it's all said and done, he might go down as one of, if not the greatest scorer of all time. OKC knows this, and have put together a of a squad. The are a college team growing up together playing together with chemistry.OKC won't let any of them get away. They are going to be scary for years to come.
Seriously?? no
not that he does, but if Durant wanted out, could he not just take the last year of his rookie deal and then become a UFA in 2012?
Heroin?
puff puff pass.
it would be , but only a pipe dream
Durant is ing untouchable... so no... not possible lmao
Steve Aschburner told Sam Presti to watch out for them man-eating jackrabbits
Start this thread up again in 2017 when his second contract is up because Durant is going nowhere for now.
Sure it's possible -- just almost completely unlikely to happen.
I think we should not worry so much about the Spurs getting Durant, but rather will OKC be after Manu this summer?
He is pretty much untouchable. The only player OKC would trade him for is Lebron.
Why does this thread even exist?
Trade bonner for kobe
Waive bogans and sign lebron
Rights to splitter for dwight
Pack of rampage flags for durant
