mike woodson playing tough defense on kidd
mike woodson playing tough defense on kidd
nice game for Kidd overall, this reminds me when he was back on the nets.
Smith!!
Dirk mother ing nowitzki
Jason mother ing Kidd
Such a move by Kidd, but it was hilarious. He has no shame.
What happened between Kidd and Woodson?
Kidd with 19-16-17what a freakin game. Magic Johnson numbers.
Good win, Mavs. Well deserved. Back to watching the Houston asskicking.
Devin Harris would have had 20-17-18
A great move. If Al Roker is gonna have his fatass on the court, hes gonna have to pay.
Dirk had ice water in his veins on that last shot.
Agreed. I didn't see that amazing comeback coming. Hawks looked completely in control.
Great win for this rejuvenated Mavs team.
Kidd/Dirk have upped it a level since the trade... this teams mentality seems so much more enthusiastic. whereas they looked stagnant heading into the ASB.
Butler hasn't even made significant contribution yet... having missed 2 games and shooting poorly in the others.
Was J-Ho really that much of a cancer? or is this just an aberration?
That is exactly what I am saying. Bron is enjoying the attention because it's the first time he will experience being a free agent. No way he takes a paycut to go to a worse situation. Plus he loves it in Cleveland and home is nearby. Lebron not only will resign with the Cavs, he is going to retire a Cav as well.
Is that a shot at me in particular or Spurfan in general?
not at you. just at everyone who said the Kidd trade was a terrible move.
Mavericks would not be this good with Devin Harris. Period. End of story. Can't even see how it's arguable.
Anyone who ragged on that trade then- and frankly, I might have been one of them- lost sight of what a truly great player Jason Kidd is.
Let's see what Kidd has left in the tank come playoff time like I said already. Before the all-star break, Kidd looked totally disinterested (or tired) in this team. Glad he found his fountain of youth and hope he keeps it. But then I will be attacked every time Kidd does well.![]()
I'm ready to eat my words for raggin on Dallas management for getting rid of Devin Harris for Kidd...
unreal stat line![]()
Can't believe I'm defending a Mav (shows how much I've wavered)
but if Kidd's gonna get ragged on for running down a coach, you gotta know this
From the NBA Rules
Section IV—The Coach and Others
a. The coach’s position may be on or off the bench from the 28' hash mark to the baseline.
They are permitted between the 28' hash mark and the midcourt line to relay information
to players but must return to the bench side of the 28' hash mark immediately or be
called for a non-unsportsmanlike technical foul. A coach is not permitted to cross the midcourt
line and violators will be assessed an unsportsmanlike technical foul immediately. All
assistants and trainers must remain on the bench. Coaches and trainers are not permitted to
go to the scorer’s table, for any reason, except during a dead ball.
Section V—Conduct
a. An official may assess a technical foul, without prior warning, at any time. A technical
foul(s) may be assessed to any player on the court or anyone seated on the bench for conduct
which, in the opinion of an official, is detrimental to the game. The technical foul must
be charged to an individual. A technical foul cannot be assessed for physical contact when
the ball is alive.
EXCEPTION: Fighting fouls and/or taunting with physical contact.
b. A maximum of two technicals for unsportsmanlike acts may be assessed any player,
coach or trainer. Any of these offenders may be ejected for committing only one unsportsmanlike
act, and they must be ejected for committing two unsportsmanlike acts.
c. A technical foul called for (1) delay of game, (2) coaches box violations, (3) defensive
3-seconds, (4) having a team total of less or more than five players when the ball
becomes alive, (5) a player hanging on the basket ring or backboard or (6) participation in
the game when not on team’s active list is not considered an act of unsportsmanlike conduct.
d. A technical foul shall be assessed for unsportsmanlike tactics such as:
(1) Disrespectfully addressing an official
(2) Physically contacting an official
(3) Overt actions indicating resentment to a call
(4) Use of profanity
(5) A coach entering onto the court without permission of an official
(6) A deliberately-thrown elbow or any attempted physical act with no contact
involved
(7) Taunting
point being... wth was Woodson doing at least 2 feet on the court??
^in the postgame interview, Kidd said he didn't know it would be a technical foul, but he knew for sure there was some penalty for Woodson being on the court.
How many other players in the NBA had any clue such a rule existed? I'd say less than 5.
If one had to guess, Jason Kidd would be among those guessed, I'd imagine. I'd put Kobe on that list too. And Lindsay Hunter, actually, if he's still playing
