No, I won't be.
Are you going to do game thoughts for tonight, timvp? I think tonight's game might deserve some (if you have time of course, I don't mean to press you if you're busy).
Also, you might want to merge some of the threads out there, it's getting pretty crowded(including deleting this one if need be).
If you're not there yet, at what point should there begin to be discussions about replacing Pop (assuming he doesn't mend his ways and start giving Ian and Hairston the opportunity they both thoroughly demonstrated they deserve)?
Thanks.
Private Messages ARE an option...fyi.
Yeah, I didn't see his name on 'active users' though; honestly, I was kind of hoping any of the more knowledgeable posters would give their game thoughts. I have my own, but I'd love to see theirs.
I think this game is actually a very good one for timvp to do game thoughts on.
I see this as a major turning point in the season.
We learned alot of things tonight.
Question is....did Pop?
Cosigned. Especially since I didn't get to see the game.
I never thought timvp would prove to be a frontrunner.
At his core he's a Pop supporter, though, and the conflict between what's in his heart and what's in his eyes must be like a matter-/anti-matter implosion.
That's why he's the Silver Lining Kid.
Heard it through the grape vine that timvp and kori got all expense front row seats to tonights game including free five star hotel. They're partying it up right now.
I will say that when three of your starters go scoreless and three of theirs score 30 each, you are at a disadvantage.
Why didn't you do a ing search for his name? NUMB nuts.
manuginobili
http://twitter.com/manuginobiliHard 2 win when u do everything wrong 4 a half. No D, TOs and bad fg %s. Awful. G8 comeback, tho, but too late
You don't read very well, do you? Calm down loser.
just a game...people take sports to seriously.....spurs fans should appreciate that the spurs have won championships instead of complaining bout how there losing......theres teams out there that haven't even won a championship.....like the dallas mavs...lol jk....spurs will be back trust me
timvp is to game thoughts what spurs are to the regular season games ... MIA
who could blame timvp though? the game thoughts will be redundant at this point. It goes something like this.
With Manu Ginobili looking fully healthy and a satisfying win against the Thunder, the Spurs looked like they were finally coming into form. However, at the starting tip vs the Rockets, the Spurs once again took a step back. Also Tony Parker missed the game with food poisoning. Parker's health is once again a concern. I've already said the season's over but if Parker continues to be hurt, we may be looking at a long term problem.
Tim Duncan
Tim Duncan started out well scoring the Spurs first 8 points. However, his performance wasn't something to write home about. According to DPG, he took stupid shots at times and seemed frustrated with all the non-calls.
Manu Ginobili
Manu didn't have another 20 point night, but he looked decent. He got to the line, hitting all his free throws. Like Timmy, his performance wasn't something to write home about. However, he did lead the Spurs in rebounds with 10.
Antonio McDyess
McDyess had his second straight horrible outing. Over the last two games, he's missed all his field goals. After turning the corner, McDyess seems to be lost and slow again.
Keith Bogans
Bogans continues to be the starter and not doing anything. He went through the game without scoring a point and his defense was poor. I don't know how long Pop uses Bogans as a starter, but he shouldn't be.
Michael Finley
After receiving a DNP two games prior to the Thunder game, Michael Finley has suddenly been brought back to the rotation - even starting. Like Bogans, Finley went scoreless and looked 5 years older than he usually does.
George Hill
Looking at the stats, you would think Hill had a great game. Before Pop threw in the towel, Hill was being torched by Brooks and he missed alot of shots. Hill is proving me right with how disappointing he's been playing this year.
Richard Jefferson
Richard Jefferson had a decent game but that shows how much his expectations has dropped. He's been resorted to a bench player now. He seemed to be comfortable playing with the young guys. Overall, Jefferson still hasn't been the player the Spurs hoped he'd be.
DeJuan Blair
Blair had a forgettable night. He let Luis Scola school him. Then again, everyone was getting schooled tonight.
Roger Mason Jr.
Mason had a decent game offensively, getting a 4 point play at one point. Defensively, he was horrible. Just another day at the office for Roger Mason Jr.
Matt Bonner
Bonner was once again scoreless. He seems to have completely lost his game.
Malik Hairston
People have been calling for Malik Hairston to play. He finally did and showed why fans like him. He was a step ahead of Bogans and Finley on both ends of the floor. According to Harlem, he made Martin miss a basket and travel. This is something Bogans and Finley failed to do.
Ian Mahinmi
The savior came and played well once again. He managed to have a career high in not fouling - 3 fouls. He hit all his shots which is something Bonner has failed to do lately.
Gregg Popovich
Pop coached a horrible game as usual. Finley starting was a joke. Bogans continuing to start is another joke. I did like the minutes he gave Ian and Malik. Few posters feel Tim and Manu should have been inserted when the lead was cut to 9. Few posters think otherwise. Overall, it's another day in the crazy Pop era office.
Offense
The Spurs didn't shoot well until the starters were out. Figures. The scrubs actually let this game be as close as it was.
Defense
The defense still sucks. 109 for the Rockets is unacceptable. On top of that, 3 Rockets players scored 30 points.
Drive to Five
Yeah right.
This isn't an insult to timvp. Just what the game thoughts would look like.
I thought our starters, except TD, sucked tonight.
Here's some game thoughts:
Pop will ignore tonight's game but still change his lineup for PHX with Parker still sidelined:
TD-Bonner-Finley-Bogans-Hill
The B-F-B starting trio will trigger a sequence of events that biblical experts refer to as "the end times".
Here are mine: As I live overseas I subscribe to NBA Broadband, and this was the quickest viewed game ever for me. I accidentally let it start too late into the game as I had tried to fast forward through the beginning junk. Saw it was 24-10 then thought since my time is precious I'd fast forward to see if the Spurs would make a game of it. Later on saw they were down by 23, then jumped again and it fell on two minutes left, so off it went. All in a span of around one minute. LOL
Sorry, sorry effort. I'm still shocked at how unmotivated and incohesive this team is from the head coach, assistants on down through the rotation. Looks like its time for some serious overhaul and new blood. Just a pathetic performance. I feel sorry for the season ticket holders, but not as sorry as Washington's season ticket holders.
game thoughts:
poop will continue to start bogners and Fin!
poor tim duncan, either kobe or shaq will get their fifth ring.
When playing against a lineup with no shot blocker, go to Blair in the post.
He's developing a nice post game. Even when he misses, he's relentless on the glass, getting second chance opportunities off his own misses.
After timvp made a thread about spurs having zero chances of winning it all he lost desire to write.
