Still waiting for you to prove we could have gotten more
I've already given you better scenarios. And then you asked for specific word of mouth proof that another team would have offered more. And then I say I don't have audio tapings of another general manager confirming he would have given more. And then you claim scoreboard.

Come up with a new gimmick. Thanks.

I want proof and you offer a scenario?

Sure...I want proof that some team offered more.... , I'll just be happy with an oft repeated rumor.

Here are the facts that we do know:

#1. The Spurs had him in their system for 5 years.
#2. There was friction between the Spurs and Scola.
#3. They wanted to move him. Period.

You add those up and the evidence points to Scola wanting out, or the Spurs not wanting him. Obviously...and if we know that...you think the other teams don't know that?

Add in the fact that everyone but Isiah Thomas is afraid of the Spurs FO...and I just don't see all your scenarios being that realistic.

ROFL. I exposed your gimmick and didn't even play along ... and you still resort to the gimmick.

    Well played

    What the Spurs got:

    1. A second round draft pick.
    2. A dumping of a player and contract the Spurs wanted to be rid of.
    3. A potential star guard.

What was offered that was better?

A #1 draft pick? Any guarantee he is going to wind up being worthy of the trade?

    Making the Cavs even stronger?

You show me we backed out of a deal for Nocioni or Gerald Wallce or something and I'll concede the point...

I'm not sure what's funnier ... that you view VSpan as a "star guard" or you actually believe that there was a chance the Spurs would or even could sign him.

    Both aspects made me chuckle.

There just isn't enough evidence of Scola's being good or bad right now.

    I said potentially...talentwise he's there...he's a just a pussy.

or you actually believe that there was a chance the Spurs would or even could sign him.

Don't know...but I do know they were interested in him at one point...even timvp was interested in him at one point.

    Both aspects made me chuckle.
He's about as accomplished in Europe and FIBA as Scola was...and he fits the more problem positions on this team in regards to youth.

How tall is Santa Claus? Maybe the Spurs can sign him to man the middle right after they sign VSpan.

I'm not saying they are going to sign him...but it does sound like they were willing to consider it last summer at the least....

Who knows...maybe he will end up signing here next season, maybe next season was always all about Euro Get Refuel...

Props to Aggie Hoopsfan and 50cent and all other smokers who think this is about maxing out a team's net income.

I spent a lot of time hoping that Scola would wash out in the NBA just to keep this from being as bad as it looked like at the time. I think I even hoped that freeing up the salary spot for Bonner could be a silver lining on the situation. Bad, bad and bad.

For that failed Jackie Butler trade, Larry Brown owes Pop a solid. I hope it wasn't taking Ratliff's salary off the Spurs' hands.

I hope Brown and Pop have some sort of gentlemen's agreement that they'll do a deal over the summer. Frankly, I'd still like it if the Spurs were to get their hands on Tyrus Thomas. Time for Bonner's ass to move on.

Scola isn't slow. Yao and Butler are centers.

When Scola is average 17 and 5 and Butler proves to be a solid backup center, don't look at me.
