My father handled a personal injury case of former Spurs Kevin Restani many years ago. I don't know if it's changed, but I recall that in the financial disclosure process of the case, it was revealed that NBA players, once they've played a certain amount of years in NBA, get a pretty nice pension.
The point is, a player has to be pretty dumb to screw up his post-NBA life. On top of the huge salaries that they get during their playing days, they get a pension.
Innocent until proven guilty I agree, but it ain't looking to good for Alvin.
