No. The point again is that if Tony/Tim/Manu don't play like All-Stars it doesn't matter if you have your saviors coming off the bench. You assume that the Trio is going to be ready, I don't because they haven't shown it all season.
This is where cutting and pasting only what you want can show a pure lack of comprehension. The point, once again, is the line between these teams is very small and YES! The difference in winning can be 2 role players coming off the bench. TP, Manu and Timmy can play like allstars until freezes over and this team will not get anywhere without successful play by the role players. I do not know of one championship that we or any other team has won in basketball with 3 on 5.

Just curious, but what is the exact number of posts required to avoid being referred to as a "noob"? Also, what do you call veteran posters with a low percentage of quality posts?
How can you tell me what the point of my post is? You reply to my post and then you try to tell me what the point of my post is? I bet you argue with yourself in the bathroom quite a bit.
300 pounds is just too much bacon for two eggs....![]()
Um, have you looked at the standings recently? Every game matters.
LOL, wasn't sure who you were responding to. No worries.
Hornets are actually playing decent without Paul, so it's still a tough game on the road for the Spurs.
Seriously
The amount of emo on this forum isn't tolerable sometimes
Good win by the Spurs, never hurts to beat a good team.
But Aggie, isn't a good sign that at least Pop limited the minutes of the Bonner/Finley/Bogans combo? At least in the second half?
Why is it when Spurs beat good teams we blame it on external factors such as: Other team only had one big, player was hurt, other team was not focused, etc, etc, etc. Yet when bad teams beat us blame it on internal factors such as: old team, small ball, Bonner, Finley or Bogans fault?
yeah should be happy the spurs won cause I am...great win for the spurs.......bunch of party poopers up in here
As Timmy said spurs needed a break to go their way. Spurs got lucky with the missed dunk, the Suns got lucky on the previous play where Hill turned it over.
Good Win. Hope for the same the next game.
One of the players in question is better than the guy who's currently starting, which makes it a of a lot bigger than a "role player". In addition, Parker, Timmy and Manu all played like all-stars and the team gave up 110 points at home, so I'm not sure how far you think they're getting in the playoffs. When Robin Lopez and Amare Stoudemire have a block party on the Spurs, what do you think Nene and Birdman or Bynum and Gasol are going to do to the Spurs' 4 guard and Jefferson lineups?
I call him TPark.
Sequ Spur.
Big deal. Both wins came against teams right in the Spurs class, which is to say, neither are elite. On top of that, they were both at home. Even if you want to take those two things out of the equation, they're also beginning to lose to the sub par teams, so it's all evening out. Trouble is, the majority of their remaining games are against the quality -- and in the case of many of those, elite -- teams, on the road and back-to-back situations.
Keep in mind, Pop also claims he'll stick with his plan of resting Duncan "more than ever" in back-to-backs. The reality is their is no corner being turned, they were just long overdue to beat a few quality teams and lose to a few bottom feeders (law of averages), but at the end of the day this team will be in a dog fight just to make the playoffs.
One more piece of bad news about this game: all the issues we've seen down the stretch all season with this team reared their ugly head yet again; only this time they got a bit of luck along with those, but it's not like they won with flawless execution. I hate to sound down on the win, because I'm not, but I don't think it indicates anything positive going forward, other than maybe Jefferson is starting to awake from his season long slumber. But with the hole this team has dug themselves and with all the issues that they have, really, does that make that much of a difference at this point? Unfortunately, I don't think it does.
Hornets also will be on b2b, now getting killed in Dallas.
Great. I was hoping they'd at least keep it close and not get blown out because then they'll play tomorrow's game with a ton of energy and intensity. Not that that should matter. In theory, the Spurs should destroy this team. In reality, they'll probably have trouble with them, particularly in the aforementioned situation, similar to what happened against the Rockets.
West will probably score 30-35 against the Spurs and Collison will probably live in the paint and throw up a 20/10 game. At least the Hornets aren't bigger or more athletic than the Spurs, a rarity in this league.
From the reaction in the forum, I'd hate to see it if the Spurs had lost today.
I'd hate to have seen the Spurs lose after such a strong performance by so many players. People whine about why some of us keep lobbying for guys to play because it "doesn't matter". The four or five point swings those guys can provide are the difference in a lot of games. I'm not sure why so many people fail to understand how hamstrung the Spurs are starting someone that doesn't contribute at all, let alone starting two or more of them.
