Didn't they used to have a big lake, and they took all the water, and now it is a salt flat?
Yeah, gotta love those Minneapolis Lakers... Such an original name. Makes as much sense as the NOLA Jazz... Whups!
Why would the Pistons be corny? It is definitely relevant to the city and region...

Just like the Cleveland Metro area is home to the biggest population of Cavaliers...
Relevance does not exclude cornyness...
Besides, have you never seen this:
?
WTF!?!
There is the Salt Flats towards Death Valley that once was a pre-historic lake, but not any huge lakes in the L.A. area (Valley or Basin) for a longggg time.
There was the Salton Sea...but that's closer to San Diego.
Better than the Jazz being in Utah...
can't tell you how many times I've been walking down the street only to have a guy on a horse come up from behind me and challenge me to a duel
Man, that's better than my car falling into the numerous lakes we have here in Southern California...
Ahh, found it:

That would be a better name than the Bobcats...that's for certain.
Co-signed.
In fact, I want the Jazz back with the original logo.
Charlotte Nikes.
Within a decade all team names will include a company that sponsors them.
Charlotte Bees (named after the state insect European Honey Bee)
