Wesley Matthews Jr.
So, who are the players you were sure were garbage last season but have turned out to have a significant game.
I'll start - Robin Lopez. He looked totally out of his depth last year, but now he appears to be a rotation player, and maybe even a bit better than that.
DeJuan Blair. I'm sure we had decent expectations for him, but he's outlived them for sure. Then again, George Hill's right up there too. It's a shame those are the only two players on the Spurs I can say that about.
Why? WTF has he done?![]()
I'll go with Jefferson. He was supposed to help SA contend.
This has Zach Randolph written all over it.
Both R.Lopez and Dragic have made quite a leap. Those two IMO are the reason why the Suns are back in contention.
Edit: Yes, Randolph too. In many ways he is quite surprising as the other two are second year players and expected to improve.
Most people who have seen him say Ben Wallace surprised them. Jerebko came outta nowhere too...
Blatche anyone?
Definitely Collison and Thornton. Loser prick Byron Scott didn't even play these guys in the first ten games before his ugly ass got fired.
Definitely Robin. I feel like the Suns took my idea of pulling off a parent trap switch with New Jersey.
dragic
Hornets rookies collison and thornton
Jason Kidd. Still doing the damn thing at 36 years young.
^no. He is Jason Kidd for god sakes.
Darren Collison and Randolph for me.
They beat out everyone due to their consistency
Still. He's out there still playing like an elite PG and just got done dropping a line that hasn't been dropped in 20 years (other than himself doing it earlier in his career.)
Zach Randolph - went from a joke to an nba all-star.
Steve Nash and Jason Kidd - i thought they were done but they look good this year.
Robin Lopez - was a hated player by Suns fans. Now he's the starting center.
Darren Collison/Marcus Thornton - these guys know how to step up when their best player is out.
sons speaking for the Hornets, obviously its Thornton and Collison. especially Thornton as he was only a mid 2nd round pick who no one expected to play the way he has been. as a starter he is averaging over 20 a game.
I'll add Andrew Bogut to the list. Up until last year he looked like an average centre, he's now knocking on the door of elite company, especially on D. if you haven't taken a look at the Bucks, give it a go and watch him closely. Man has become an ol'-skool BEAST.
I read that as Andrew Bynum at first, and got very confused by the end of your post.
Yeah, Bogut is one of the most pleasant surprises of the season. I remember when people thought he was kind of a bust, and now he's dominating like crazy. He's only 25, so he's only getting better from here on out.
I'm not a surprise, just dominating the way I'm supposed to dominate. The real surprise was that I didn't play well last year and run away with ROY.
