Contribute to the creation of problems, do nothing to actually alleviate the problems, toss out spending band-aids comprised of benefits with money the country does not have, play it off as compassion, bash that one asshole forcing you to end the cycle, blame that asshole for single-handedly screwing every person wanting unemployment benefits.

End result, spend spend spend fcuk fcuk fcuk pass go, be the hero who saved the hard working people needing unemployment benefits.

When they eat it up, they eat it up. Well played

I just get a kick out of all the media reports focusing on the surface circus and never discussing the gears that drive the machine.

How much of the stimulus has been spent? What is the rest of it earmarked for?

, I am liberal, but I don't understand the complete uproar over this guy objecting until it is figured out how it will be paid for. I would rather be in an uproar over why they waited until the afternoon before the benefits ran out to discuss this. I would hate to take this money from the stimulus if the rest of it is already earmarked, because we could be using that money to pay for stuff to get done rather than just a give away.

the sad thing for democrats is that if it wasn't for their absolutely insane leaders in Congress they could be so much easier to defend.

Well there are good(ish) things I can say about them. Pelosi actually gets passed, that is undeniable. She is actually using her majority. That being said, I cannot stand her. I understand the opposing side's dislike for her. Looking at/listening to her is like grating nails on the chalkboard while cutting myself with a razor under a shower of lemon juice.

Harry Reid: I don't think that he is any worse/better than any other Senate Majority leaders, outside of the fact that he DOESN'T GET PASSED.

The getting passed is the problem.

Trillion dollar "stimulus." Wants a Trillion dollar healthcare plan? The year's budget with a Trillion dollars in Deficit spending?

Nothing good about getting any of this passed.

Nothing wrong with spending money when you are crawling out of the Bush recession...now if you run up deficit for 6 years during an economic expansion like the 'conservatives'...that would be a problem...

Whats wrong with spending money that we dont have lmao this is never gonna stop. All I hear is.."I inherited this" "We have to keep spending to stimulate the economy" "We created 2 million jobs", etc. Its all BS. I'm in commercial real estate & atleast 8 out 10 business owners I talk to have no idea whats going on..Successful restaurant, fast food, business owners etc dont wanna expand or hire until they know whats going happen with health care, new taxes, regulation. Pretty sad that Washington doesnt seem to realize that entrepreneurs & consumer spending relies mostly off confidence & nobody has confidence in them right now. Gov is not the answer, they dont know about business..Just a bunch of shady politicians watching out for themselves.

An economic collapse would have been an even bigger bummer..can't blame Obama for the housing bubble collapse...the Bush tax cuts didn't create private industry jobs, but it created tons of govt. jobs...where were you when Dubya was running up the deficit by 5 trillion dollars in unfunded mandates?

Im in Southern Ca..The rent over here s on Texas probably..Minimum $4 a sq ft where we mostly operate. We know a ton of ppl with cash but don't wanna spend it till they feel secure & know whats going on..If you actually think our gov. is giving ppl confidence then I feel bad for you Maybe in some places where you live, but not in most of the major cities around the country.

I understand that you disagree with what is getting passed, I have disagreed with many things that have gotten passed under a Republican congress (Bush tax cuts for example). I am just saying that from the standpoint of her party, she gets done. I dont agree with all of it (in fact some, I think, is totally out there), but as a house speaker pushing through an agenda, she does a good job.

If we do not reign in the hyper-capitalists it's still possible. Little to nothing has been done and the funny-money derivatives market is still going nuts. Capital keeps looking for irrational returns instead of loaning money and building solid porfolios. It seems contary to conventional logic but the lack of regulation is harming business.

That's my take. I am sure there are people that know a lot more about this than I do.
