Apparently this fool's never heard of Bexar County:
Tacos in the Morning? That’s the Routine in Austin
"When it comes to breakfast tacos, however, Austin trumps all other American cities."
Hahahhhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhaha hahhahahhaha
Austin has some good tacos.
Why?just because maybe, and it wouldn't surprise me, they make "green" breakfast tacos.
Puh-leeze.![]()
Better than SA?
And the writer seems to insinuate that eating tacos for breakfast is some kind of gringo hipster Austin thing.
Yeah, SA folks never eat tacos for breakfast...
it's new york, of course he thinks bfast tacos are craaaaazy....
but austin has some badass tacos
Meh. South Texas in general has some great places for breakfast tacos. There's a few taquerias in El Valle that I'd put up against any in Austin or SA.
Although, isn't there a place in SA that was voted the best taco in America? I went there once, but I've since forgotten the name.
What's the big deal about making good breakfast tacos? It's not that difficult to do, the secret is in the quality of the tortilla.
Not really its starts with a good tortilla, but you can really make bad egg a la mexicana, carne guisada, pappa la etc....
When I lived in Plano, that is one of the most things I missed about SA.
Cheese Flour Lard
the holy trinity.

i'm gonna have to go with JOHN T. EDGE on this one
The tortillas are deal breakers for me.

NYT writer....
Well sure, but if you start with a great tortilla, even a plain scrambled egg makes a good breakfast taco![]()
True. As do many places in Texas. , I've had some great breakfast tacos in Johnson city.
I guess the point is that eating tacos for breakfast is not some insanely hip and off-the-wall Austin invention/tradition. Unless you're a NYT writer that is.
Oh my. That looks like a duster. Mmmm
Yeah.With lots of butter.
Apparently ...

I wish I knew of a place that sells good breakfast tacos up here in Dallas.
Juan in a Million is the .
whoopdee-freakin'-do
Juan in a million was good but it has nothing on Taco Taco.
Austin has some awesome food, but it does not hold a candle to San Antonio for Mexican food.
I miss my Cristans tacos.![]()
