In that case, the team would then pursue Greek point guard Vassilis Spanoulis who will also be a free agent in the summer of 2010 after his current contract with Panathinaikos Athens expires. Spanoulis would be signed to be the Knicks' starting point guard in the event that they do not end up with Nash. Of course this is all part of the Knick's 2010 master plan and any of this can come true or none of it. We just have to wait and see.

I can't remember a player declining as fast as Spanoulis this side of Iverson. He was never that good, but was still an average European player for most of his career with a flashy style. Jay Williams or something. This season he's a complete scrub. Dreadful playing. Panathinaikos can't even qualify for the playoffs even though they have the best frontcourt in Europe by far. What a disgrace. He'll probably retire next season.

By way, ignore mogrovejo as usual. Spanoulis has play all year with a hurt ankle, plantar fasciatis, a torn muscle in his calf, and also tendinitis in his knees.
This is because he has play year round since 2004 he has never had a summer off from national team. When season is over he will probably need surgeries and maybe he cannot play again in the national team this summer. It will be very hard for him.
Is nothing to do with how he plays he is just tired and sore and needs rest.

No. He does not have any damage. He has a sore ankle, torn calf muscle from play too much, plantar foot from play too much, and also the knee tendinitis from play too much. There is no damage.
Every year he has same exact injuries. This is because he played every summer since 2004 with national team. This is something no NBA player does. So he is just tired. This is nothing new, he has the same thing every year. After the year he waits a month and then is able to play back with national team. But the last 2 summers he got tired at the last two games of the tournaments.
And now this year he did not get any rest early in season with PAO because team had so many injuries. So it means he might have to rest this summer. He will decide. There is no injury damage wise. Really if he wants to now he can take a month or two off right now and he will be fine. He is just a player that wants to play always no matter what.
He will need his rest. He never had more than 2 weeks off in the last 6 years. If he rests for example now for a couple months then if he did play at world championship he would be better than he ever was before.
