i didn't say that was a bad record though. TBF the Mavs have lunged a mile forward propelled by the Smokey/Gooden ---> Haywood/Butler trade but still I don't think it was quite a shrewd deal like the one Lakers made bestowed by Stern. To me the winning storm is more like a compensation for their several sluggish games prior to the trade than the true reflection of their real power IMHO.
