It's a shame that they cancelled the whole shindig. In fact, it could lead to even more issues on campus now that there is NO prom for any students. Really is going to be for the couple for the next few months at least.

Calling me defensive would imply that I had a reason to defend myself. Since to my knowledge no one had mentioned me in this thread previous to my posting, that's far from the case.
I merely implied that a portion of the content of this thread was stupid. I didn't elaborate as to what, exactly, I was talking about. The fact that you apparently took that to mean I thought the comments were stupid, rather than the article or the prom cancellation itself, would actually make you the defensive one.
For the sake of clarification, however: I think the school's decision to cancel prom based on this girl's plans is stupid. I think the fact that the school even gives a who she, or anyone else, is bringing to the prom is stupid. I think that making a big production over who you're bringing to prom, if that's what this girl did, in an environment where you know this information will likely not be well received is stupid. Additionally, I think that having to censor yourself and hide information in a way that the rest of the student body doesn't have to is stupid. As of the time of this post, I haven't even read the majority of the posts in this thread (though I bet I can pretty well guess their gist) and was not, in fact, referring to yours or anyone else's contribution(s) to the thread as stupid.

My gf and I didn't attend, we proceeded directly to the house party to get ed up. Probably half of our friends did the same thing. When her parents asked why we didn't get any pictures done, we told em' that the line was too long and that we'd rather save the money anyway. (Which we spent on beer and bud for said house party)
