Isn't NBC losing the Olympics in 2012 anyways? I mean, I'm not sure on that--but to get the NBA back on NBC would be interesting. That was the channel in which I grew up on...
I had never heard the whole song before, but 2:30-3:15 sounds genius!
Isnt this the song where they show that animation of the bulls running thru the city and entering the stadium? I like that animation! Texas football have a similar animation with the longhorns, looks awesome.
I dont know if having the NBA back on NBC is such a good thing. Do you remember when the USA National Basketball team was on NBC. Those es didnt allow ANY youtube highlights or videos to be posted. It was the gayest ever. I couldnt deal with not being able to see a nice highlight reel on youtube.
amazing that back then the used lasers and instrumental music, now teams use fire and rap, which blows
"Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project, is the name of the Bulls intro tune. I agree that it is the best ever intro.
I once heard a John Tesh interview where he talked about the origin of the NBA theme. He had been commissioned to do it but had no ideas. He was touring in Europe somewhere and woke up in the middle of the night with the theme in his head. He called home and sang it into his answering machine. He didn't remember he did that until he got home and listened to his messages. When he heard himself he remembered doing it but thought it had been a dream.
'81 was still more like the '70s than the '80s. The '80s as we know it in a pop culture sense didn't really start till 1982 or '83.
