Since Fin departed, I see a team playing loose, playing team defense, and looking like they enjoy playing together. Fin's horrific D played havoc with our rotations and long rebounds off his misses were great at igniting opposing fast breaks. He helped us in '07, but those days are gone. I don't miss him, harbor no ill feelings, but he's just another NBA baller that isn't a Spur. I don't really care what he thinks about the Celts. I'm over it.

    Hairston + Jackson >>> Fin.

    Win.
+1 but I would say Hairston > Fin today and even more of a gap as Malik gets playing time.
Nothing against Finley, but glad to see him go to free up Pop to play guys like Malik and Jackson.

I believe the Celtics have only won once since Finley has played for them.

Again the Finley effect still works.

It's kinda fun to watch grown men on the internet get so emotional over a bench player leaving for more playing time.

Just think of what we would be if we had never signed him and turned into the Mavs

Congrats Finley, you've got somewhere your ass should feel at home.
So how did he act thug and talk trash when he was here or in Dallas even? Are you serious? Finley is a good guy, just because he is on that team now doesn't make him any different than when he was here.I didn't get that either, maybe he means got better without him? We won a le with him though in 07 so that pretty much made no sense at all spite me trying to figure out what he said above.

his old team is now way past its optimum period of chasing championship while the new crew seems to have a couple more years for championship runs. The Spurs now only have one superstar in Duncan himself but the Celtics have 3 of his caliber, together with the solid support Fin may probably bring in the Celtics are quite clearly a favorite for championship, even more likely to win it than Cavs despite the stats in regular season. Actually nothing has ever been a bigger matter for Fin than winning championship rings and it was for this reasons he joined Spurs a couple years ago when the league's best team was the San Antonio spurs or at least the Spurs were one of the bests in that era. What a snobby Fin is.

Because he is a black man, almost all black men have tattoos all over their bodies, just look at the NBA. Birdman obviously missed the memo..
So basically he just says that the Celtics are a bunch of black neanderthals IE: Kevin, Perkins, Wallace, Etc. that don't learn and just go out and play "tough", yet have slipped significantly in the standings. Good job Fin.
You seem to have a bit of an obsession.

Their record is two games better while playing in the weakest division in the NBA. Since Christmas the Celts are 18-19, the Spurs are 24-14.

Uh, no. Boston is a game and a half ahead of the Spurs. They have ZERO teams in their division that have a winning record. The Spurs have one team in their division with a losing record.

I have no idea why anyone considers the Celtics relevant anymore. The entire team core aside from Rondo has slipped tremendously this season, with Garnett's decline the most obvious. You combine that with an awful bench and bad rebounding and they're a lesser clone of the 2008-09 Spurs. They'd never make it out of the first round if they played in the West.

The truth is never a "go-to move". You say that as if it is something that can become cliched or passe when it cannot. As if it is something with style points, when it is not.

In 1 million bc a turd stunk just as it does now, the saying of so should not be labeled as any kind of "move" for it is a miscategorization of what is being done. Style points be damned.

Why don't you go into further detail in explaining how not signing Michael Finley would not only have turned the Spurs into the Mavs, but also how it relates to someone posting at spursreport and spurstalk? We eagerly await your prose.

Simple really. We signed Finley and turned into the Mavs just like you started posting here and we became like SpursReport.

And if anything proves my point, it's that you had to have that explained to you.

To be fair, Blake has made humongous contributions as well.

Let me know if you need further clarification...always here to help.

Ah I see. So basically you just fail at english. Makes sense now

I needed it explained because you were contradicting yourself without realizing it.

You sure do have an obsession with people who used to post there.

I'll probably need it in the future seeing as how you can't put together coherent thoughts.

a lot less teaching than we had in San Antonio."
Maybe Finly thinks that after 35 years in the league, nobody can teach him anything. Pop sure as couldn't teach him defense.

Garnett has fallen off bigtime at the same age as Tim! I noticed that alot this year, last year was the beginning of it! He fell off BIGTIME!
