what in the world were the jets thinking releasing T. Jones and signing L.T. to replace him? It just doesn't make any sense what so ever when Jones was coming off his best season statisticlly ever and L.T. his worst. Here are last seasons numer to compare.
    Tomlinson Jones
    Rushes 184 293
    Yards 584 1294
    Yards/Rush 3.2 4.4

No in way...I think the Jets take a step backward with a guy who's proven to be over the hill (although still effective in the red zone) instead of sticking with a guy who rushed for 1400 yards last year.

Jets have other good backs, but health will be a question. I don't think this will effect W/L's in a major way unless LT is thrust into the role of primary back.

Jets, IMO, are still a team on the rise

Bad signing, altho LT might not have to do much and thus be able to coatail his way with the Jets. Hard to believe LT accepts his backup role, all he did the last two seasons in SD was pout and spout about how he can still do 1400.

I'm hoping the Chargers sign Jones and he does 1400 again.

imo they not only got worse, but increased their pussification level tenfold. Between this and the Cromartie signing, I just got 100% confident the Patriots will win the divison next season.

    Patriots 12-4
    Dolphins 8-8
    Jets 7-9

They've now downgraded their #2 CB position, and one of their runningback positions....they should know how ty Cro and LT are, they JUST played them and embarrassed both these players.

I also think its funny how LT let Shonn Green punk him by mimmicking his TD celebration in the playoffs, and now he's he going to be that same players BACK UP.

You guys are overrating Thomas Jones. He got 1400 yards with 331 carries behind one of the top 2 offensive lines in the NFL. 4.2 yards per carry behind Allen Faneca, Nick Mangold, Damien Woody and D'Brickashaw Ferguson with Tony Richardson as the fullback is easily replaceable. Shonn Greene averaged 5.0 YPC in the regular season and 5.6 in the post season. LT might not be good anymore but he's more than capable of averaging 4.2 YPC behind that offensive line as the 3rd down back to Greene. All in all, it's a lateral move because Jones' durability is obviously not replaced by LT.

Can't believe no one realized that.

I honestly think Rex Ryan got LT and Cro just to further the Pats/Jets rivalry. Big Fat has this obsession with Belichick, he knows LT hates Belichick too, and he figures Cromartie can be converted.

I can't wait for this to blow up in Big Fat 's fat ing face.

Supposedly big fat is getting surgery because he's so fat.

On paper it doesn't make sense but maybe the jets know something about TJ's health that we don't.

I gotta agree with DOK, Tomlinson will do better in NY because they have the beastliest offensive line in the NFL.

Either them or the ans. Both lines deal with 8-9 man fronts and still open up huge holes. If the Jets got a semi-respectable passing game the line would play even better.

I think the Jets were thinking that Shonn Greene will be running the ball while they will be using the name Tomlinson to sell tickets.
