Dalembert is another noteworthy candidate for MIP. There are better ones, but he's been playing very well this season. Not the offensive liability he was last season.
Heh. Funny you mention that. I was wondering this week what the correlation between winning the opening tip and winning the game was. Given Dalembert leading the league, it's likely not too strong.![]()

I guess it speaks to the relative unimportance of jump balls that it is a stat that is not even tracked.
This was not always so; in basketball's early days, every made basket resulted in a jump ball at center court.
If that were still the case, Dalembert would be pulling a max contract. He might even be in the running for MVP.![]()
