Holy balls. No one ever drive on 1604 going West between 7 and 7:45. It's damn near impossible to see.

Yeah
I'm at the rim
It's like mighty ducks 2 out there
You should travel as much as possible now before you have children. The roadtrip we took this summer was possibly the 2 greatest weeks of my life. I saw a countless number of amazing things in that stretch. I constantly look back over the pictures that we took and I still freak out when I think about all that we saw.
One of the best things about living in Santa Fe now will be how central we are to a lot of camping and hiking locations. We're within a day drive of so many great national parks.
I find it very serendipitous how we ended up in New Mexico. The first week I met Jekka she went to Santa Fe and I remember her constantly telling me how she loved the state. Its a fairly amazing place.
Damn bro, New Mexico is awesome. I'm jealous that you are so close to the Angel Fire/Red River/Eagle Nest area. That's my favorite place in the US. I'm not a huge fan of Sante Fe but you are so close to many awesome places.
We'll have to meet up when he head out there this summer![]()
Golden Retriever, Callie is 2 years old and very sweet. We still have cats...there are 5 now...a kitten wandered onto my patio a week before we moved into the house...
I'll have to come over for dinner and y'all will have to come over for a BBQ.
I am glad you and Jekka are in a place you like so much.
Bo just recently acquired some paid vacation time. He and I are both very excited about it. We like road trips.
Yes!!!![]()
Remind me to tell you about Sho and our Slovenian flag that you gave me.![]()
Road trips are the - where are you guys thinking about going?
We haven't planned an extended vacation route yet. Bo and I regularly take day trips on the weekend to places like Wimberly and Fredricksburg and the like.
Bo is eager to take me to Seattle although I am not sure if he has enough time off yet to drive that far.
I am a have car will travel person so Bo can take me anywhere and I will enjoy it.
I love going anywhere in the car with Bo because he is super talkative in the car. We have had some of our most fun discussions out on the road.
One time a couple of months ago, Bo and I wanted to go on a day trip but did not know where to go. So we cut up four pieces of paper and wrote the directions North, South, East, and West on them, folded them up, and put them in a cut.
Bo let me draw papers and by process of elimination, we decided which direction we would drive in.
I forget which direction was the last picked, but I know there was absolutely nothing but blink and you miss them towns.
Still it was fun.
Seattle is probably cheaper to fly to than drive when you consider how much gas it takes to get there. It's beautiful up there, though - that was one of my favorite family vacations. We flew up and then rented a car in Seattle, drove all around the Puget Sound area and then took the ferry to Victoria and went to Vancouver. Now you have to have a passport to go to Canada, but it's worth it to have one anyways.
I don't know if you and Bo drink at all, but periodically going through the Texas wine trails is a really fun weekend getaway. You're coming up on the best time of year to do that, too - the Hill Country during wildflower season is beautiful.
Thanks for the tip!
Neither Bo and I are big wine drinkers, although Olive Garden has a dessert wine that we both really enjoy.
But I love wildflowers so the trip would be worth it for that alone.
I saw in another thread Ploto mentioning something about it being nice in Tyler during the first week of the month with exhibits and all, so that is another possible destination.
The place I most want to take Bo is to Disneyworld because he has never been and I know he will have a fantastic time.
If we came into some money, I would like to splurge on that and on taking us to Slovenia.
I would love to drive around Europe.
I think I just cried a little.
Kimball Art Museum ftw, if you're venturing up 35.
To be fair, I have never tasted truly great wine so that is likely why I have never been a fan of it.
I'll keep the museum in mind.Kimball Art Museum ftw, if you're venturing up 35.![]()
Richer
Yeah man - its so damn amazing there. Santa Fe is pretty interesting so far - lots of interesting people. They have some damn good food there though.
LOTS of good food.
I love road trips. Too bad my next one is going to involve a moving truck and a cat -- it would be nice to take my time and make it fun.
I had to drive past too many bourbon distilleries in Kentucky on the way to and from Michigan because I had the cat in the car. At least my cat is a good traveler, though - it could have been a lot worse.
*burp*
New Orleans has great restaurants.
Go ahead. Make me jealous. Where'd you go?
great, but overpriced
True...what you should do, really for any city, is do some research and go off the beaten path. Find the places the locals go...the prices are usually better and the food is too. Something I learned from being a travel agent for years.
