Who is the toughest player you've had to guard so far?

    …and why? -DukeNukeco

Robin Lopez: I’d have to say Tim Duncan. If you can manage to take away the drive, you kind of have to settle for his bank, just put a hand up and hope it goes out. He’s a very cerebral player.
Which player did you most admire when growing up? -DukeNukeco

Robin Lopez: This is a suns site, so I might have to bite my tounge. when i was really little it was Magic, but middle school on it starts with a Timmy and ends with a D
Pretty good interview the rest of the way. These are all questions submitted by Suns fans, and Robin answers quite a bit of them. Not sure if this belongs in the NBA forum or not, but I thought the Tim Duncan quotes were relevant.

    Another one:

Robin Lopez: Reguarding Bynum v.s. Duncan, both present theiur own challange. Bynum is ridiculously long and athletic wheras Duncan Is very smart. If i had to pick my poison, i like my chances with Bynum, particularly in a clutch game.

I think Kevin Love had similar things to say. Not surprising that some of the young bigs in today's NBA were Duncan fans growing up or that they may have used him as a model for their own games.

He must feel that way when young players tell him that they were in the 5th grade when they watched TD play in the 99 finals.

I remember when the Lopez brothers were at Stanford, both were huge Duncan fans. Good to see that Robin is adjusting to NBA play, took him a while to adjust at the college level as well.

Thanks Xylus. It's always nice to hear one of the new generation give Duncan his due.

A bit from Love after he played against Duncan for the first time.

It was crazy. It was my first going up against Tim Duncan. And to see him work and all his moves and how he's a finisher around the bucket. I've always looked up to his game while I was growing up. He's a ... serious player. He's the greatest winner in the past 10 years. And far as best player goes, it's probably him.

So going up against him, and learning from him -- there were teaching points last night. He hit a 15-footer off the glass and I was running up the court and said 'Man, what can I do about that?' Well young fella, you can't do much about that, to be honest with you.
