James becomes youngest to 15,000 points

LeBron James became the youngest player to score 15,000 points, breaking Kobe Bryant’s mark by more than two years in the first quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 92-85 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.

James had 29 points against the Bulls to push his total to 15,026.

Three points shy of the milestone when the night began, James soared in for a hard right-handed dunk on a break about 4:40 into the game. He then hit two free throws about 40 seconds later, giving him 15,001 career points

James reached the milestone at 25 years, 79 days, and he did it in his 540th game. Bryant was 27 years, 136 days and playing his 657th game, according to STATS LLC, when he did it for the Los Angeles Lakers.

James is going to break every single "youngest player" mark that Kobe has set.

    ********CORRECTION********

sons the original poster failed to break down the correct information for Lebron's career totals. Below are the facts ...

    Earned Points: 11,431
    Awarded/Freebie line Points: 3,595

sons 11,431 points is impressive regardless, but at least show the facts. his numbers are highly inflated.

He's averaging over 8 assists for the season...

I know James is the youngest, but is he also the fastest to 15,000?

Even high schoolers can knock down open shots when their teammate is demanding all the defense's attention.

That said, he's got a better chance of winning it all this year than any other with his current roster.

Pretty sure Wilt was the quickest in terms of games played. Jordan second I believe.

    Wilt
    Jordan
    Kareem
    Oscar
    Elgin

All got to 15000 in fewer games. By the time Wilt had played in 540 games he had over 21000 points.

Agree though. This youngest to reach BS milestone is weak. Player(s) who get to break a record by playing fewer games should get the nod.

Thanks. That's what I thought. The "youngest player" stat is kind of misleading, especially since Lebron started straight out of high school.

Best player in the game right now....by about 50 miles.

    It's not even a discussion.

His per game average is 30, 8.5, and 7. That's completely insane.

If any other guy in the league does that on any given night, it's a career achievement. For LeBron, it's his freaking average.
