San Antonio Spurs 147, Golden State Warriors 116
    by Jesse Blanchard
    48 Minutes of

Golden State Warriors head coach Don Nelson got himself ejected from the game with 2:42 remaining in the first quarter. His team mailed it in long before that.

Between the quick-hitting inbounds plays, one pass layup lines and Matt Bonner keeping the spirit of Tony Parker’s teardrop alive, the San Antonio Spurs scored the most points in the history of the Gregg Popovich-Tim Duncan era.

“We didn’t compete at a level needed to even have a chance against this team,” Warriors coach Keith Smart said. “I’m not even saying to probably win it, but you need to have a very high compe ive level from the very first quarter to have a chance to make them have to play with Duncan on the floor just a little bit more.”

Tim Duncan was able to get the best of both worlds, rest and rhythm, sitting out the entire second and fourth quarters while posting 17 points (8-8 shooting), six rebounds and five assists in just under 14 minutes of play.

147 points for the Spurs is an even greater achievement than 152 points for the Suns. The Spurs shot 64.6% tonight, which is the most efficient offensive performance I've seen in years. Granted, it was against the Warriors... but still.

that would be a resounding no. Even if we ended up playing the warriors again (don't know the remaining schedule) there is absolutely no way they'd play as bad as they did yesterday. Their D was non existent... and when I say that, I don't mean bad, I mean NOT THERE.

We could have ended with 157 points if we hit those free throws lol

looking back at the log my memory is confirmed. The Spurs had 139 points with 6 minutes to go (half a quarter). I thought to myself, surely they'll hit 150. For some reason *coff* Mason *coff* they started missing shots. They only scored 8 in the last 6 minutes.

Mason had four missed three-pointers in the last 6 minutes including one that slipped out of his hands like it had grease on it.

I'm just glad that Don Nelson has the style of basketball that Pop aspires to bring to the Spurs.

The 147 points. the Spurs scored, is more of a reflection as to just how poor a defensive team the Warriors are. It's not like the Spurs are the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors are a disgrace to the NBA and Don Nelson should be fired. Besides, he quit on his team again - just so he could take an early powder so he could start getting his drink on.

Sad that Pop seems to want to copy Nelson's philosophy lately. Becuase it has done so well for Nelson? I don't get it.
