Now we all have mixed emotions of what happened today. Here are my takes.

    1. The true changes needed were simply tort reform and denial for preexisting conditions... both of which cost nothing to implement.

    2. We all know that, the real scam is that medicine was "free" before. It was already ridiculously overregulated and patients were denied care all the time. Maybe not by the government, but by HMO boards. No difference.

    3. But, unfortunately, the Republican version was "Hey, if a doctor is on coke and kills your dad, you can get maybe 50k". I realize there are risks in medicine, but it's just one special interest group getting rewarded at the sake of another.

Thank you for your time everyone... This has been a night.

Tort reform has produced no savings in the cost to consumers in Texas in seven years and denial for preexisting conditions describes the current system, not a reformed one.

    Your plan stinks, KA.

Don't forget Texas ranks last in the USA for having the highest number of uninsured people. If you're sick, Don't mess with Texas!

At most, tort reform will bring costs down 1%. It does nothing to change the cost curve. Not quite the pancea Republicans think it is.

    "tort reform"

nothing but a Repug pro-business/ -the-patient red herring sucking up to the for-profit insurers.

Illegals could always buy private health insurance. There was never a law against it.

illegal immigrants had and will continue to have good, free healthcare from university hospital

its mainly the middle class that get raped when they have some sort of $80,000 medical bill and their house gets reposessed. most illegals have no problems with stuff like that as they have no equity to go after.

"illegal immigrants had and will continue to have good, free healthcare from university hospital"

Plenty of poor American citizens get treated at public hospitals and clinics. It's another wingut red herring/You Lie that illegals are the dominant component of the cost of public health care. That's not even true in illegal-saturated California.

Magic Negro's next home run will be a solution to the illegal immigration problem, although I can't believe he's still insisting, incredibly stupid, that the bill be a bi-partisan product, since we all know that the Repugs will NEVER sign on to anything the Dems propose, and the Repugs will NEVER propose a serious solution to illegal immigration (they had 8 years and did nothing), just like they had no serious proposal for health care reform, and are agruing loudly against any financial regulation.
