Dampier for Iggy in the offseason BOOK IT

That, or if he's willing to take the MLE they should sign Ginobili. It'd be ironic as after all the arguments involving Mavfan and Manu, but he'd be a good fit for them.

unfortunately I'm sure Carlisle agrees with you. I look forward to getting curbstomped by Denver (assuming OKC or Phoenix or Portland doesn't get the job done first).
it's not what can be redirected by the power of Marion or Haywood though. Mavs are built to suck against tough teams and they are fatefully going to get curbstomped anyway. what are you arguing about then?

The other thing you have to keep in mind is that coaches have to be flexible. It's not a paint by numbers exercise. If Terry is on ing fire and hitting everything, do you think he's coming out of the game when it goes down to the wire? If Marion is making life miserable for Carmelo and inducing him into shooting 4 for 15 from the floor, do you think he's coming out?

Oh I don't think so at all. Roy/Miller have already shown their dominance over Kidd/Terry. Russell Westbrook makes Kidd look like he's 47. And it doesn't matter if Harden is a rookie, he'll still get his points if Terry is guarding him. I'm pretty sure I could go out there and drop 15+ on Jason Terry. He is seriously getting comically bad on defense.
No way the Zombies beat us in a series. If it were just based on talent and skill, they should've beaten the Spurs last night.

I would never say this unless I've found an answer to Dirk on behalf of the opposing team. you are only spotting the areas where Blazers are better than Mavs, totally ignoring all these disadvantages can be well made up for by Dirk's dominance over the ty likes including Aldridge etc., you would be nuts if you think Aldridge would give Dirk a bit more tough defense than Kidd/JET would possibly get from Miller/Roy.

I think of the 5-8 teams the Zombies would actually have the best shot. They have a PG who can put pressure on, they're the best of those teams defensively, and arguably would have the advantage of having the best player on the court.

He'd come on the team and the Mavs would win a le, and every Argentina Nazi Sympathizer on this site would say Manu won the ring for Dallas.

What a knee jerk reaction. They are the same team they were during the win streak. Win or lose.

They're also a team that is prone to shooting themselves in the foot by their second-year PG stepping on the in-line when attempting to inbound the ball at the end of games, or freeing up Thabo Seefalosha for a game-winning shot instead of Kevin Durant. Dallas is a veteran team that has been through the playoff wars, the Zombies haven't.

We must get the 2 seed... the margin for error is small considering the eggs laid against the Knicks and 121-63.

I would not call one mistake like that "prone". They have played pretty damn well.

That is like saying the Mavs aren't that great and were prone to mistakes because Howard called a timeout they did not have.

I'm just saying it doesn't surprise me one bit that the Spurs pulled that game out when on talent and athleticism alone, the Zombies are decisively better.

There are exceptions, since the Mavs beat the Jazz in 2001, but I trust a veteran team over a young, inexperienced one.

in a way i dont have a problem with damp starting, because he knows the system better, and his style fits better with the starting lineup. plus he actually knows how to ing box out for rebounds.

i like energy coming off the bench, and haywood does just that

What exactly is the deal with the final year on Damp's contract? Is it Dallas' decision to pick it up or not? Are they going to so they can trade it, or are they gonna let it come off the books?

It's not guaranteed. He has to average 30 mpg or make the All Star team. Since neither of those things are going to happen, they can simply decline to pick up the option, creating instant $13 million worth of cap space to whoever holds his contract in August.
