Richard is easily my favorite character, i don't want to be disappointed.

to be honest, i never even watched one episode of Lost. I didn't want to catch it halfway through since I know I'd be LOST. I'm looking forward to the end of it, since I hope to start from season 1 and go through it all at once. I hope its worth it.
Richard was cool until he started looking like a wuss that had no answers to anything any more.
imo, season 1 is the best.
best character that still never got enough air time: Desmond
but his blue shirt is badass. I want the same.
I like him because he's the most mysterious character
Tonight will be the most epic Lost episode of all time save the season finale of Season 1.
inb4 instead of flashbacks, we get flashsideways where he is a Ballerina instructor at a prestigious New York academy.
****NOTE for anyone recording tonight's show on DVR (which includes myself)****
This episode will run until SIX minutes past the hour. So set your recording devices accordingly.
thanks
So there are some answers.....
Get netflix you can stream seasons 1-5.

zomg loved the cork metaphor
That was great.
Man, I actually cried a lil during Richard's story. Damn, he's been through . Is that where they are?![]()
OMG EPIC EPISODE!!![]()

Nah, it's not . MiB was just using that because he knew Richard would believe it.
I think MiB might be the devil though, and Jacob is/was the current guardian.
Did anyone hear the name of the sheriff or whatever he was that came and recruited Richard? Last name was Hanso.
Do you think Richard was being recruited at that moment by Jacob? Also, Richard got baptized.![]()
He also drank wine with Jacob, which could be seen as one form of the Eucharist.
Yup, but we never saw Magnus, just that Whitman (I think?) fellow that started killing the ship passengers. In an earlier episode, Widmore bought some stuff like a diary at a Magnus Hanso auction though, I think Desmond was in the room too.
Tonight was one of the best episodes of LOST ever because it was so immersive, you just get "lost" in the story and the cinematography was amazing. The only bad part was stupid Hurley saying "I can't tell you Jack cuz it's got nothing to do with you." It's that kind of secretive horse I hate coming out of the characters trapped on an island that could be killed at any time, especially Hurley. He's sucked since season 3 after being the coolest and the writers make his dialogue so lame.
Since MiB is trapped there, that kind of explains the chain rattling we hear when he's the black smoke. It makes sense that he can't escape using ocean, but I'm wondering HOW he plans to get out. Obviously, this game started with Richard being the first representative and I'm sure Jacob has something planned to stop MiB and we'll start to see it in the next few episodes.
anyone else think the alternate reality is going to end in some huge disaster to reinforce the importance of keeping smokey on the island?
i loved this episode with Richard though. One of the best in the entire series I think.
Overall, a pretty good episode. I'm sort of irritated with the christianity parallels, but I doubt it will end up being so straightforward. I would have thought the cork was to keep the electromagnetic properties of the island at bay, but uh I guess keeping sin and suffering from consuming everyone is interesting too.
AMAZING
What I loved about this episode is that it didn't keep going back and forth between the past and present. When it went to the past, it stayed there for almost the rest of the episode. And Richard's back story was riveting. Definitely one of the best episodes of the series. Loved it!
I think the writers love throwing in symbolism but I don't think that mens there is a certain "Christian" or any other theme. I think its a way of letting people pick up on clues. Its always been that way with Lost and its one of the reasons that its so fun to watch.
One thing I noticed tonight was how they referenced the Man In Black. Those familiar with the Dark Tower series by Stephen King have to like that. Also, while Richard isn't exactly Roland both names are similar and both are cursed with a form of immortality. Might all be coincidence but I don't think so.
My wife and I actually didn't like this episode. We already figured that MiB was the devil, or an analogue, and he couldn't get off as long as Jacob was alive. We also figured Richard came on the boat. I like when the flashes relate to the on-island stuff more, personally.
There's so many mysteries still... the Wheel that moves you through time, why Walt was special, the reason for the Dharma initiative, the properties of the island (pregnancy, healing), why the numbers were being transmitted and whether their numerous appearances are coincidental, why MiB is affected by sonics/ash... etc etc.
Many forums actually compare the MiB to Randall Flagg.
Questions thought of overnight......
Why do you think Isabella is just now contacting Hurley?
Do you think the Black Rock could have crashed the statue?
So the whole theory behind Magnes and Alvo Hanso is true?

Is this the island?
