Well I misunderstood but was still right.

A new daughter- you are blessed!

My parents first fight over me was about what age they would allow me to start driving. I think I was 3 months old at the time of that fight.
    3 months old.

My father always let me park the car in the garage since i was 12. He's not a good driver and he doesn't like to drive so he was waiting for me to start driving. I didn't have to ask.

My hubby read an article about the dangers of heating food with microwaves and wants to throw ours away. I refused and he challenged me to a debate (Wednesday, since he has a dinner to attend tonight) for the childrens' benefit so we could let them decide. This actually works to my favor, so I accepted his challenge. It's pretty simple; he gives the kids (all under the age of 10) a scientific lecture on radiolytic compounds and deformed molecules and then I tell them that when they're hungry I will no longer be able to make their chicken in 3 minutes in the microwave, it will take 20 in the oven instead. I will also inform them that since their father wants to go "natural" with their food they will no longer be allowed ketchup or bbq sauce with their chicken.

It's nice to have won something before even competing.

Bo would not have gotten a microwave in our place had I not really wanted one. He too was concerned about health risks, which is strange because we both came from homes with microwaves and are both perfectly healthy.

I would not want to be without a microwave.

My mom made me get my driver's license. I was more than happy to let her give me rides. I was a boring teen and so other than church, which we both went to, the only place I asked for regular rides to was the library.

    "radiolytic compound"

My brother's mother-in-law won't let his family have a microwave for the same reason.

This didn't pass the "smell test" and astonishingly, when looking into this I found no scientific papers supporting any of this.

It is essentially pseudo-science, much like "magic healing crystals" and "healing infused water".

These claims get to troll around on the internet unhindered by anything as troubling as scientific proof.

Probably the most flagrant error ... is that microwaved food or water contains what they call "radiolytic compounds" — new chemicals created by the tearing apart of molecules in a microwave. These new chemicals are said to be dangerous, cancerous, radioactive, unnatural, or otherwise harmful. This is a demonstrably false claim.

Radiolysis, which is a real process and which [some believe] creates these radiolytic compounds, is the process by which molecules are dissociated under ionizing radiation. Water can be dissociated under ionizing alpha particle bombardment, which is a natural process.

Microwave radiation, as mentioned earlier, is not ionizing radiation. It is thus scientifically incapable of causing radiolysis. The differences between microwave radiation and alpha radiation are huge. With the claim that microwaves cause dissociation of water molecules, the [people who spread this claim are] either deliberately lying, or they are grossly ignorant of the very subject on which they claim superior expertise.
    http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4080

A microwave oven is, to my understanding, essentially a giant light bulb.

Some types of light you can see, some you can't.

Easy Bake ovens and toaster ovens use low-frequency light in the infrared spectrum, being essentially heat lamps.

Just as glass can be opaque to certain light, or transluscent, or completely transparent, so is everything else to various frequencies of light.

The frequencies involved here just tend to be absorbed by water (and similar molecules) due to its chemical properties.

You will notice that microwaves are a bit farther down the EM spectrum than infrared (heating lamps).

Do the mildest bit of digging and this bit of quackery is rather easy to debunk.

Now if I can just convince my brother's wife and her mother....

Why the would you want to imagine that?

This brings up something I've always wonder about tho. Does the FUPA (fat upper pussy area) have any effect on the actual size of the vagina opening? Is it proportional or is the FUPA just for show?

    FUPA?? Cat-guard??

Okay, knuckle-draggers, listen up: That area is the mons pubis. It is adipose tissue in place to protect the pubic bone during intercourse. The actual size of it is directly related to estrogen level and percentage of body fat. Towards the bottom it divides to form the labia majora (probably what you know as mud flaps), but it bears no relation to the size of the vaginal opening.

Cool, that's exactly what I wanted to know! However, mud flaps is such an undignified name, kind of like gunt.
