I still think it's hilarious how the island cork that holds in all the evil in the world can travel through time and space if you simply spin a frozen donkey wheel.

Not a bad episode, but again, not much in the way of progression. But, based on spoilers, I don't expect the season to get interesting until two or three episodes from now.

I just want the er to end. Oh, and there's a Jacob/MIB episode dealing with how they got on the island that should be good. Allegedly.
It was okay, not nearly as bad as it could have been. I liked the ending when Jack made the promise, it was a reminder that promises from people (humans w/ all their limitations) are more emotionally gratifying than promises from MiB/Jacob types (godlike beings that seem basically perfect).

PS: I wonder if the "stubborn" alive tomato is foreshadowing the next chapter in the Sun/Jin story

I've gotta say, personally I thought the island was much cooler when it was mysterious and looked to be a science experiment, than the plaything of two gods. Ah well.

I also wonder if once you start agree to start working for Jacob or MIB, if you become untouchable, i.e. Richard. If I was MIB, I would have smoked Richard back in 1876 before he started working for Jacob.

Wow, that totally was a missed chance for a real game-changer. Knowing the writers though, they'll probably just show him with Michael in the FSW without explaining ...just like they won't explain the Degroots or Hansos!
Also, I love Sayid being a numb expressionless robot. Reminds me of the robot from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a total Debbie Downer.
I'm not sure what to make of Sayid at this point.
I liked him best when he was working for Ben....
which brings me to another opinion of how much it sucks that Ben has gone from being a major player of control to nothing more than a Lostie.
Walt was yet another in a long line of red herrings on Lost. AFAIK, he wasn't even a candidate.

yeah.....if she's no longer a candidate, I have no problem with seeing a big clair-kate cat fight.

I had higher aspirations, too. The 1st person that came to my mind was Walt.
But , I wanted Malcolm David Kelly from 6 years ago Walt.
I'm hanging on to hope for #1 on my LOST wishlist:
In my head, the only thing that can redeem the producers/writers from a Walt-gate debacle is if they have a all-revealing scene or full episode with Walt. But not the Walt we see today, NOOO. I want the production team to have had the foresight to have filmed several crucial scenes with 2004 Walt and have them already in the can, waiting for editing. I wanna see a scene where young Walt meets MiB and is told he's the only one that can release him from the island. Or something like that. But that ain't gonna happen
I would assume he can kill anyone but the candidates, as the blond haired boy that showed up in the jungle told him it was against the rules to kill Sawyer. So I'm assuming he needs to kill all the candidates to leave the island, but can't do it himself.
BINGO! He alluded to still needing Claire, so I reckon he's got a plan to have her kill people. Maybe by blowing up the plane with everyone on it...and the race is for Richard to blow up the plane first before anyone can board it? Meanwhile something bad happens to the sub, so everyone feels totally LOST like they have no way off the island until...the way out is explained in the 2 hour finale!
LOL @ Walt being a red herring when the real game was about the candidates from the very start. I dunno, I feel like the candidate thing was conceived around season 3...the Walt thing was just to get people open minded about the supernatural elements that could be added to the show as a way of explaining things. The producers saw people were accepting of it, so they added all sorts of weird such as the Frozen Donkey Wheel, Miles talking to dead people, immortality, and time travel. They have no need for Walt, they are telling a totally different story now.
Here's the thing... Kate's name, AFAIK, WASN'T crossed out in the lighthouse. So why was it crossed out in the cave? That's gotta play a role down the line.
The producers have said that we'll get more info on Walt... to which I say, f'ing right we better.
Definitely gave the go-ahead to Claire to off Kate after they get off the island.
We also figured out why MiB hasn't left already, definitely.
And yeah, I think the candidate thing was started after S3, when they got the go-ahead for three more seasons.
