Sounds like a good deal to me
Maybe, if the Spurs were owned by a Russian oligarch.
Spurs might regret not throwing a "big" deal at Manu for an extension, because if he keeps playing like this, someone is going to throw a ridiculous contract at him.
Very true......and the Spurs may seriously spend more than they want to keep him crossing their fingers & toes that he can sustain a consistent level for the next few years......and that'd be fine by me! Manu needs to end his career w/the Spurs.
His assists/playmaking alone are worth 10 mil a year for this team.
Is that fair to Manu?
Real talk, I think Ginobili has earned a 2 year $26 million contract. That's a very fair contract.
$13 million / year is a sizeable salary boost from the $10 and change M he's making right now, and 2 years is reasonable.
Well, he is more than 3 times better than RJ
MY BAD GUYS...
THREE YEARS 91 MILLION...
TRYING TO ONE UP KOBE HERE...
RJ is a $6-7 M/year type player. That $15 M he's getting now is ludicrous
so manu has outplayed lebron,kd, and many more superstars in head to head matchups this season he deserves it
8 million a year max
it..
2 years 21 million should do it.
I am changing my previous opinion. Holt should pay Manu 2.3 Billion a season for the next 23 years.
He surly deserves more then Richard Jefferson's sorry ass
Wow it sounds like even Manu's starting to think it's his last season. I've never heard him be this vocal about the possibility of leaving. I was just thinking tonight at the game these last few games of the regular season may be the last we see of him as a Spur so we might as well enjoy it.

“I played eight years here. It may be the last one,” Ginobili said. “It's hard to swallow, but it's the first time I'm going to be (an unrestricted) free agent.”
Relax, it's just the smart thing to say, sending a message that he's not closed to other options, so that the FO doesn't take him for granted. But barring something crazy, he's going to remain a Spur. That's what he really wants.
how about 90 million a year instead?
I'm telling you, if Manu played with LeBron, they'd go 82-0 and 16-0. Manu could play for 3-4 more years and win 3-4 more rings.
Both are free agents this summer.
Imagine Lebron, Ginobili, and bosh in NY.
What can the Spurs actually afford to pay Manu?
Capologist?
Anyone?
c_geek is good w/ this stuff. Where IS that guy?
I don't know what salary Manu will ask for, but looking at it from his standpoint, it's kinda ridiculous that RJ is making way more money than him, no? I think even Jefferson would admit Ginobili is the better player.
I think it'd be smart if the Spurs offer Manu two different contracts. One number with him not playing during the WCs, and another number with him playing. Both good, generous offers, but one a little higher if he decides to rest.
